I don't understand your post. So if you applied and they told you to wait 4 weeks (normally they tell you this and it comes much sooner), then why do you want to go & apply again?

I think it is in the normal range, ours took about 5 weeks. Call them if you want to see what the hold up is. They can't process it until immigration updates their files.

We applied for my husbands on 02/14/07 and still have not recieved it, we called the SS office that we applied and they told us that Homeland has it pended in their system. If you call and give them the info that is on the sheet that they gave you, they will tell you the reason why you have not recieved it.

To Blessed to be stressed:) I realize that all things have a purpose and a time.....have faith and the Lord Almighty will provide... when the time is right, he NEVER fails!

they said it would take 4 weeks to process the card.

It hasn't even been 4 weeks, I don't why you are complaining.

####### is this?

It is a government agency, called Social Security Administration.

Others are getting the card in days

And others wait for months...

Like AOS, some get a green card without an interview in 2 months, others are waiting for years for FBI name checks.

Did they give you a letter to show that you applied? If so call the local SS office number listed on it or go to the SS site and look it up. They may have needed to verify her immigration status (and they also had printing problems earlier this month that delayed cards).

Four weeks is not abnormally long to wait, if there are issues like I mentioned above.

You could also go into the social security office in person. If they have issued her a number already, but net yet sent the card, they will give her the number ahead of time (they won't do this over the phone though, it needs to be in person).
