You guys are all going to hate this, but I swear we've just been super lucky so far...

We received a letter today that stated that the NVC received our petition and is forwarding our stuff to the Vancouver Consulate. :D

*dances around with glee*

I'm just hoping that everyone's apps go through as fast as ours have!

Nini - Vancouver BC, Canada (she's the one who does the forum thing)

Bee - Devon PA, USA (he's the one who gave her the shiny ring)

So I got my NOA1 in the beginning of April, and my file has not had any "touches". I was wondering if this is normal, or should i worry?

It's normal. Some get touches and some don't.

Nini & Bee - you two are having amazing luck!

I was kind of jealous until I remembered that you met in WoW and you're Canadian too.

That makes it all ok. =D

Hi! This is my first post here. Just wanted throw my name onto the pile of April filers. I'm a little confused because my NOA1 has a received date of March 28, but a notice date of April 4. I'm going with the April 4 date because in situations like these it's never the earlier date

My K-1 Timeline:

02/08/2007: Engaged on top of Table Mountain!

03/27/2007: Sent I129f to NSC

04/04/2007: NOA1 (from CSC)

06/27/2007: NOA2!!!!!!!!!!!!

07/09/2007: Paper NOA2 in the mail

07/13/2007: NVC sent our petition to Jo'burg!!

07/27/2007: Packet 3

09/20/2007: Successful Interview!!!

09/27/2007: Visa in hand

10/02/2007: E's flight lands at 2:10 in Chicago!!!!!!

No, you won't. Vancouver is uber-efficient. At least I hope so, because I'll likely be going through there too in a few months.

(Used to live there actually, Van, not at the US embassy, so kind of looking forward to a visit, just wish it could be under more leisurely circumstances.)

I'm an April filer too. Mailed the packet to Nebraska on April 12th. Still haven't received a NOA1, but my check was finally cashed by California May 4, 2007.

My receipt number apparently wasn't on the back of my cashed check, so I haven't been able to set up my account to check my status yet, which I'd like to.

Think I should call and try to get my case number? I'd like to be able to check my status, and again, all I know at this point is my check has been cashed. It's almost been a month now, with absolutely no contact whatsoever.

Good luck to us all!

I'm just thinking about that wonderful moment when Adam takes that first step into our home once he's approved and know that he never HAS to leave me again...sometimes that thought is all that keeps me going when I think of the long road ahead of us.

So here's to all of us getting to that perfect moment as fast as we can!

Hi Michele,

It's strange that there is no WAC# on the back of the check. You could try calling, but I have a hunch they'll tell you to get an info-pass appointment to go into your local (or not so local) office for the information. I mailed mine to NSC two (2) days before you did, and was able to at least get the case number off of the check. I have not received the NOA1 in the mail yet however, and I guess there are a number of filers who never have as well.

Please keep us posted on the situation though, I'm interested in hearing if the customer service reps are consistant in giving the information over the phone.

Well, I did just call, and was given my WAC# (cool!) and was also told that they didn't receive my application until May 1, 2007 (not so cool). They couldn't give me any solid reason for the delay, but did apologize and say sometimes (and I'm paraphrasing here) applications don't get checked in as fast as usual, and sometimes things get misplaced or missed initially.

My case is through California now, as are loads of other Nebraska or Texas filers. I can't help but think the length of time from when I mailed it (4/12) to when it was officially received (5/1) has to do with that sending files from office to office. It seems to me my 'received' date should be when Nebraska got it, not California. But oh well, I know the received date isn't that big a deal and there's so many different circumstances that are going to effect my unique processing timeline, but it still sucks.

Oh well. I guess I'm just going to chalk it up to my terrible luck. Sheesh, here I was thinking I was a month into the process, when, on record, I'm 10 days into it.

PS - the website says they received my application May 1, 2007 and a letter was sent to me...blah blah. Is that letter the NOA1 I'm awaiting?

I have to say though that the two people I spoke to on the phone were extremely nice and helpful. While I'd obviously advise against calling for daily updates or 'hurry it up' kind of issues, I'm not afraid to call them with concerns about the process I may have now.

So, I guess I'm technically a May filer now...boo.
