I just called using the RFE trick. I've tried not to for two weeks but I figured I've been patient enough. I got an Indian lady that I had talked to a few weeks before. Besides poor english skills, whe was a complete b$%&h and only begrudgingly checked to see if I had been assigned. She told me this wasn't going to expedite anything and that I couldn't call back for a month. This was after she realized I hadn't called for two weeks and I mentioned that I've seen people with NOA1's after mine get approved. Can you believe the nerve...If you get the woman with the indian accent, I suggest just hanging up and trying again later.

DERON YOU GOT YOUR NOA1 1 DAY EARLIER THAN ME.. MY NOA1 IS APRIL 12 SO WE ARE RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER. I HOPE WE GET OURS VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY SOON. ATLEAST BEFORE THE MONTH OF JULY ENDS. THIS AUGUST 12 AND YOUR AUGUST 11 IS OUR 4TH MONTH.. I THOUGHT K1 VISAS TAKE ABOUT 6-7 MONTHS ONLY..BUT I GUESS WE HAVE TO ASSUME WITHIN A YEAR...

HAS ANYONE IN HERE OR KNOW ANYONE THAT TOOK A YEAR OR OVER A YEAR BEFORE THEY GOT THEIR FIANCE(E) IN THE USA?

There are many people that have had to endure long waits. That's why you see the dates on the USCIC site so far away. They post the date of the oldest petition that they have and not necessarily the actual dates they are working on. I don't have answers as to why some petitions take so long. Maybe complicated background/name checks? As long as you meet the requirements, you should be good to go, but no one can answer when. Good luck!!!!

So sorry to hear that Deron, my fiance called on the 10th and got a very nice, sympathetic guy. He told him that our case was not assigned at that time, and that we should be patient, they will get to us soon. You should call again! So you didn't find out at all whether your case has been assigned then huh?

She actually told me it hadn't been assigned yet, which is of course a dissapointment.

A touch just came through for me a few minutes ago, but I'm almost certain it's a result of the call. I think I'll take your advice and call again....However, just in case there is an issue with reporting, I've decided to try NVC and see if they've received the case. They have email and I sent one today to see the result. I will let everyone know what the turnaround time and results of the process are.

I just checked our online case status and the status was finally updated!!! Sort of. The Last Updated is now today! (even though the actual status hasn't changed)... So... touch?!?!
