Indeed Deron we are in the same boat. That is one thing I love about VJ is we don't have to endure this insane waiting alone. HAHA not that I'm glad you all are waiting too haha but you know what i mean. I am still trying to be optimistic that my fiance can be here before Christmas.

I feel blessed that I was able to spend 6 months last winter with her in the Philippines. The fact we spent so much time living together has made this time apart all the more frustrating for me. Plus we have had to endure a system that is even worse than the USICS process. We had to go through an annulment in the Philippines. Talk about frustrations haha. That took almost two years. And I've been told I was lucky thats all it took. But with that compared to the time we have been waiting for the K-1 process I really can feel how close I am to the end haha.

But as I said before i would walk though fire for her so I'm grateful all I have to do is wait in the worlds longest line for her hehe.

Just think. This time next year. The K-1 process will be months behind us. We will already be married and enjoying life. Well yeah there is still paperwork to do the AOS and lifting conditions blah blah blah. but once that special person is with you, its all downhill from there.

The waiting sucks......sucks bad....I go bat nuts just waiting for a book to come in the mail from amazon haha. this, THIS is excruciating. But honestly..I know the end to this story, well this chapter anyway haha. And knowing that, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

So if you can, take solace that we are indeed in this together. It's not just you having terrible luck.(a fact that I have a hard time realizing sometimes haha) But eventually, we will also, ALL get through this together.

:)

Wioombeen,

This isn't the first time your words have helped me out. I appreciate your perspective and I'm doing my best to follow suit. I believe you are right, we are already so lucky to have our SO's, this time is just a small blip in the big picture of life. Wishing it to be smaller is both futile and frustrating, therefore focusing on the grand scheme of things clearly has it's advantages.

I also spent about 4 months in Ukraine, a time that I am very thankful for. It makes this waiting process more irritating, but I of course wouldn't trade it for anything. It's kind of like the webcam and laptop I brought her last month, I love to see her over the net but I miss her even more each time I see her.

I'm even more thankful now that I didn't have to endure an annulment process. ;) I thought having to wait for my divorce papers, a process that held me up 'the' critical month, was difficult. But alas you are correct, it sure makes it better to have others to share our experiences with. VJ is great, without it I would complain and eventually share my success, to those tired of hearing about it. :)

Thanks again for your response Wioombeen. Take care!

I have a sneaking suspicion that some of our petitions are being used as coasters over there haha. And my Roommate here has his own theory, that my petitions touches are because the adjudicator needs something to read when nature calls. HMMMMM Perhaps I should have included a few Entertainment Weeklies in my petition. :D

I called CSC yesterday using RFE trick. The person was very helpful, but our file is still pending and has not been assigned to an officer yet. Last night I checked the status online and noticed a touch. I assume due to my phone call. Will continue waiting...

I think i'm still waiting for my petition to get sent to NVC, and i'm not a nobody!

Frankly, I'm not even worried about it at this point. I'm in the home stretch leading up to the bar exam, a little less than two weeks to go and I'm freaking out about that. I don't have time to worry about NVC at this point! Of course, it will be another story after the 25th, and if we haven't heard anything about petition by then, I'm calling NVC every hour on the hour.

03/27/2007: Sent I129f to NSC

04/04/2007: NOA1 (from CSC)

06/27/2007: NOA2!!!!!!!!!!!!

07/09/2007: Paper NOA2 in the mail

07/13/2007: NVC sent our petition to Jo'burg!!

09/20/2007: Successful Interview!!!

09/27/2007: Visa in hand

I think that technically the NOA1 determines if your an April filer, however I've noticed that the send date has as much to do with adjudication time as any. For example, if you look at those that were approved, from NOA1 to NOA2, in a short period of time, many times you'll see that it took quite a while for them to get their NOA1. The dates seem pretty consistent from mailing to NOA2, but again this isn't scientific just a result of combing the timelines way too much. ;)

I'm in the opposite boat and concerned as my NOA1 took only one day to be issued. If you and wioombeen get approved quite a bit before I do, that would potentially be proof that I am right about the mailing date being relevant. Oh please let me be wrong.... :)

Hi Everyone. I have patiently been waiting and reading posts on a daily basis. I sent my petition on April 17, 2007 and it was received on April 18th according to FedEx. I waited and was going to call CSC regarding my NOA1 after thirty days cause my check had not been cashed even on May 14th. On that day, I got my NOA1 and later saw that my check was cashed a few days later.

My NOA1 showed a received date of April 18, 2007, but the USCIS showed May 11, 2007 as the received date online.

I finally got impatient and thought I would contact CSC via an email address previously provided by another filer in a post. I emailed CSC on July 10th asking about my status and the different dates listed for the received date. I got a response on July 11th stating that it was pending and that the received date is May 11th. I sent another email stating that the NOA1 showed April 18th and got a follow-up email stating I was right. I guess I can officially call myself an April filer now.

Reviewing some other posts and seeing no change online as to my received date, I contact my local congressional representative via fax and provided the requisite privacy form. I received a call from a staff member within one hour and was very optimistic. Unfortunately, the person said that she contacted USCIS and they are working on November files now and I just have to wait. She also said that USCIS puts the received date as the date they start inputting the case into the computer and not the date they receive it. I told her what I had learned on VJ and she said that she knows more than me about this and accused me of implying she is "ignorant." I asked to speak with her supervisor. Her supervisor was much nicer and said that we just received your paperwork today and we need time to look into it. I said that is all I want.

I saw that I received a touch later on July 11th and also had one today. Unfortunately, I don't think the touch is anything special anymore after reading so many other posts.

My reasoning for contacting my congressional representative also dealt with so much emphasis being placed on illegal immigration, I want them to know that the people going through legal channels are being ignored. Year after year, I vote for the same party for congressional seats without question. I have never needed any support from them until now. It will be very interest for me to see if they will be helpful at all. I will definitely remember this on election day.

My best to all and especially to those who have been waiting so much longer than me.

April 18, 2007 FedEx delivered Petition

May 14, 2007 Received NOA1

May 16, 2007 Touch-probably to cash check

July 11, 2007 Touch

Yeah, I'm not sure if we are supposed to be using the Nebraska Service Center with the receipt date for the I-129F on our timelines OR if we are supposed to use the California Service Center /NOA1 issue date information on our timelines instead? I am confused. either which way I guess

Hi MGMK,

Welcome to the April Filers thread! :jest:

I'm kinda surprised that your congressional rep actually attended to you, coz I thought we can only contact them for help when your application has passed per USCIS processing times? Pls correct me if I'm wrong! Anyhow, I still hope that CSC would get a move on, aww really, these past weeks have really been dead..... <_<:(
