I never have found ti to be useful other than I called the immigration line and waited for over 30 minutes on hold, then called the main line only to find out that they didn't actually keep the immigration line anymore, so you're calling the hold loop and not going to ever get an answer. They said to email and that's that. try re-emailing. Also try both email addresses, because sometimes your question may actually be handled by another one you didn't expect.

PS--sometimes it can take them as long as 2 weeks to respond.

Don't bother calling.

I sent an email Thursday night (embassy is closed on friday and saturdays) I got a response this morning.

Send your email to the NIV and IV Amman emails. They are always prompt. Make sure to have your case number in the subject line AMM.... and specify what visa, K1 or K3 etc.

Calling is useless...they won't talk to you....they actually hung up on me. I got through to a real person, some woman, and I told her that I simply wanted to inquire on the status of my fiance's Visa and the bee-yatch practically screamed at me saying, "You MUST SEND AN EMAIL IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS REGARDING AN IMMIGRANT VISA!" I told her that I HAD sent an email but had not received a response. She basically called me a liar and said, "Well, I don't believe that. We answer our emails every day. Send it again and put 'second attempt' in the subject line." Then she hung up on me. I was so pissed I was ready to get on a plane to Amman, march my happy ### in that embassy, find that bee-yatch and do things to her that would place me in prison for the next few years. Anyway, good luck with your quest for answers and your journey with the Amman embassy - they make sure no one gets a Visa until they are thoroughly ready to shoot themselves in the face out of sheer frustration and anger.
