i have a question about packet 4. How long does it take until you receive it. My wife interview is on May 14,2009. And im afraid she wont be able to get in without that letter.

We have the same interview date. I still haven't receive my fiance either, and my flight schedule is on May 6.

haha thats kool. so you havent receive your packet 4 yet. So how is she going to get inside for the interview.I thought they need that letter from packet 4 in order for her to get inside.

I really don't know, maybe it will get here before i go, if not i just let my family express mail i guess. hopefully it come soon (fingers cross). So are you attending or no?

If it takes up to 3 month how will she get inside for the interview. I mean is that letter a requirement. Or will they postpones her interview until i get that packet4.

Inside Packet 4 contains a letter that explicitly state for you to show this letter for entrance on the interview date. I found out that you may ask for you scheduled interview. And, at the Phnom Penh Embassy website also lists the Case Number alongside with the interview date.

Here is the direct link to that site: Scheduled Appointments

If you missed the interview date because you failed or received the packet 4 afterwards, you may request for another interview date.

My schedule is on there, but the packet haven't been receive yet. maybe i just worrying to much i have 1 1/2 weeks left, before i leave.

Guy!

Don't worry about the interview letter. You will receive it within one month after they send to you just like you received your packet 3. Somehow it take them one month just to sent those document to the U.S. In my case, I received mine 2 weeks before the interview date. But since I know the appt date through the website I able to get all my doc. for the interview in time. Good luck guys!!! My recommendation to you is be prepare and prepare!!!! Bring alot of evidence!!!

Good Luck! Be patient. You'll need it to be prepared.

Don't ever expect your fiancee or wife to get Approval on day one. This will help you fight the second battle of re-organizing evidence. The interview process is a very simple, and easy process though. If your wife or fiancee knows pretty much everything about you then you are safe with the personal questions that they'll ask. The next question that is in their head is money. How much income do you have? Child support unpaid? Tax Returns, three recent ones?

To make sure you have enough income to bring an immigrant to the US to live permanently, you need to consult this FEDERAL POVERTY GUIDELINES. If you meet the income requirements, you are golden. No sweat.

If yourself don't have sufficient income, make sure you want to include co-sponsors. Primarily, they want to see you working too because they do not want the Cambodian nationals to become 'slave' laborers for the USC. Therefore, you'll win the money questions.

I just receive my finace letter of appointment today... But they mention something about a "notarized offer of employment". So does that mean i have to get my letter of employment notarized?

Yes. Have it notarized. Look up the internet for places where you can get it notarized by a public notary. There are plenty of places. The most common place is Law Offices, the UPS Store, and Government Center. Those are just sum area.

Although I have not seen on my wife's letter in the past that they asked for "notarized offer of employment". It's weird.

CONGRATULATIONS AND GOOD LUCK!

Sorry Shenan, I don't remember the forms included in packet 3. However, I found this link which you can prepare the forms prior to receiving packet 4. I do know that listed in packet 3 is also a checklist for you to return to the Embassy in order to obtain packet 4.

Forms

Browse previous posts from members who applied for K-1 from a Cambodian member. I think somebody posted what's inside packet 3. After you know what's included, you can prefill the forms listed at the site I just gave you.

Thanks Niels.

I have completed the forms and I am waiting for the checklist. Do you know anyone that has a copy of the checklist? Also, does my fiance need any forms to go ahead and set up her medical exams?

Thanks,

Kevin

You can go and get the medical without the Packet 3. The medical record is good for one year. Nor do you need the case number. I'll try to find someone with the checklist.

Make sure you check out the hospitals designated for medical checks in the Embassy information on this site.
