Lace, I see ya went and did it!

Well seems we will never get an interveiw the way this is going. This what these consulate clowns did:

Subject: RE: I93 .

Date: Thu, 23 Aug 2007 10:51:03 +0700

From: "visas, php" <visasphp@state.gov>

Thanks. It takes 10 to 12 weeks to schedule an appointment from the date of receipt this I-93.

Immigrant Visa Unit

Khan Doun Penh, Phnom Penh

You have seen this up the thread a ways, Thea and I assumed that they had received the I93 and this is a receipt date. Well I sent them an email on the 3rd asking them this and that and on the 10th they replied with this:

From: visas, php

To: Jeff

Sent: Monday, September 10, 2007 3:06 AM

Subject: RE: 13th IV Inquiry

As we told you, we received the DS-230 Part 1 on Aug. 20, 2007. We need a completed checklist prior scheduling an appointment. Per our record we do not receive any thing before that, for your message that she sent us something we do not have any control on the mailing system in Cambodia. Again, please send us the checklist ASAP so we can schedule for an interview. thanks.

Now if this isin't enough to just about blow the gasket, I dont know what is.....The whole time from August 23 til

Sept. 10 we are thinking we have them schedueling an interveiw.....Nope, they must of lost it like the others and wont admit it. So I had Thea send me a new signed I93 and did email attach and send 2 a day for 3 days... They acknowleged with:

From: visas, php

To: Jeff

Sent: Thursday, September 13, 2007 10:37 PM

Subject: RE: 13th IV Inquiry

This is to acknowledge receipt of your completed I-93. thanks.

So now it is the Sept 13th for a receipt date know doubt

I wonder if they will lose this one too....Very iresponsible people.....Wont admit to anything....

I also tried to call and I got the consulate operator and ask for the IV unit and he gives me the Non-IV unit and I told the guy I want the IV unit and he said, oh you got to email them...

That really sucks. They hold all the cards. The only thing you can do is send, and resend the checklist. Make sure you check off the documents. Check the box itself. I would just send it to them again. Make sure you email them you sent it to them AGAIN.

From what I've heard the mailing system in Cambodia is not very reliable. I have heard of great reviews via DHL. Send it from the US and from Phnom Penh. It may cost abit.

While you're waiting you could start reading up on the AOS forum as that's going to be the next chapter. To give everyone a head start here's my AOS checklist.

Hello everyone, I have some good news finally. Today in my postal mail I received a letter from (not sure) consulate that we have a interview date! Dec. 11, 2007. So from Sept 13, acknowledgement of the I-93 to now is not 10 to 12 weeks.

The letter is dated October 2, 2007. The postmark on the envelope is dated October 30 2007. I received today November 3.

I believe the letter was mailed from the USA.

Thanks

Jeff

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!

The Packet 3 doesn't mention this but make sure your fiance brings her Cambodian ID along with her passport. I saw one person only had her passport and the embassy made her turn around and get her Cambodian Id. Good luck and bring her home.

Hey Guys-

Can I use the I-93 checklist from a K-1 pack 3 for a K-3 visa? If not, does anyone have the pack 3 for a K-3 visa that they can e-mail me? Jeff has been super helpful in providing me his pack 3, but I wanted to compare the difference between the two visas. My gut feeling is the information is the same. Thanks in advance.

-Andrew
