I saw Gingrich last night on FOX news (which, btw, it's a very amusing network, it's like watching a 24h Maury-Jerry show, withouth the naked ladies).. he denied the 'ghetto' thing, but I actually liked his idea of a fast english crash course so immigrants can learn at least basic english ASAP.. and not to stop the 'press 1 for english', but because again, it's helpful to know basic stuff..

thing is, there are some people against immigrants learning english... in the Tobacco areas of NC, where there's a pseudo guest worker program (actually they live enclosed, the employer provides house, food, transport, and the workers have to pay for it), employers don't want the guest workers (mostly hispanic) to learn english, community colleges give free ESL classes to 10+ groups, and they have even offered, but the bossmen say 'no'.. why? i guess it's convenient for them so they can rip'em off

There are always arseholes in the country. Employers like that should be exposed and shut down. Most people in America want everyone to integrate successfully. It only helps the country because they are successful and self supporting.
