I'm filling out the I-134 form, and the interactive form keeps putting in the wrong date!

Specifically, on line 10, I'm trying to enter the date I submitted the I-129f, and when I do that, the date submitted field for line 9 auto-populates -- and I want that blank! And when I go to blank out the dates on line 9, it blanks out the date on line 10!

ARRRRGH!!! This is madness! What am I doing wrong?

Same thing happened to me.I believe you clicked auto date so when ever you put in a date it will automatically use that date in all areas. Some how you can delete this.I tried to find out how but couldn't so what I ended up doing was deleting Adobe and downloaded it again. Then I filled out the I-134 again and when it asked me to auto update my dates I just clicked on no.Problem solved!Good luck

Here's what Nolo Press's "Fiance & Marriage Visas" says about Line 10:

Question 10: For the reasons that underlie Question 9, the U.S. government wants to know whether the US citizen is planning to sponsor anyone else, having filed a visa petition on their behalf. Even if you [the overseas fiance(e)] are the only person being sponsored, the US citizen [in this case, me] should fill in your name here, with a notation by your name saying "subject of this affidavit."

Unfortunately, I'm at work and they don't allow us to download and install software here. I may have to do this the old-fashioned way. Ugh.

I just went with what my attorney told me who has help me since the beginning without any issues. If you have to add "subject of this affidavit" it makes sense since it clarify's that the I-134 is for your current fiancee. I just didn't want them to think that I had filed a K1 visa for my current fiancee once before and doing it again. At this time in the process it should be pretty clear who the petition is being filed for.

When completing this form I had a problem with my employer name because it is too long to fit in the space they give.

Therefore, I left it blank and wrote it in neatly in black ink. I had no problem at the interview - and the CO looked at my form and made a comment about my profession.

I'm sure there won't be a problem if you leave it blank and then write it in like I did.

This is incorrect information (above in Red).

Q 9) Is for a previous filing an of Affidavit of Support.

Q10) Is correct on the VJ Example. This is where you would put your fiancé's name/information. This form can be used by someone other than the Petitioner - if someone else, say a relative, was completing this form for you (as a sponsor), they would leave this blank - if you ARE the petitioner, then of course you have filed a K1.

Lol.. ya..reboot, clear temp files, temp.INTERNET files etc..

I think they thought it was a good idea, and maybe it is, but it's frustrating on these date sensitive forms...
