How to write gaps in employment on N-400

Hi.

Can someone help me with Part 8. Information about your Employment and Schools you Attended.

I am currently unemployed since I moved to a new state. I just wanted to double check I'm not over analyzing this. I am not claiming or I'm not receiving any unemployment benefits nor did I apply for them, are they just asking if I have any gaps in employment and write down the date and the location when I was not working or are they asking for periods of time I was on unemployment benefits?

Also, the form instructions says to type and write N/A or None to almost everything that's empty. Should I really fill 3 pages of N/A for every children I don't have? and wives I don't have? Did you guys just leave that blank?

Also it asks to write None if you have 0 children but the form doesn't let you write anything except numbers, should I just type it with a pen or just put 0?

1. They are not looking for unemployment benefit, it is just part of background check. Unemployed and period of it are good.

2. Leave them blank.
