I have two questions about age difference and singleness?

We are same sex couples , we got our petition approved, my fiance who is the beneficiary from Arabian country with different culture , different religion and there is a difference in age between us about 26 years.

my questions are:

1- is this difference in age between us will affect his interview with the console?

2- after he got his visa and come to USA and when we are ready for marriage , will he need the affidavit of singleness or the affidavit of marital status to prove that he is single as his culture and religion allows polygamy?

Age difference generally does play a role in being a red flag in a lot of MENA countries/high fraud countries, especially a large age gap... being a same sex couple I think it would apply the same...

As for the second one, your SO would only need those documents to show the embassy for the interview. Once they made it to the US to marry they would not need to show those documents again.

Question, although the country allows for polygamy, the US does not. To get married in US, dont you have to show proof of the end of previous marriages? Then for AOS process as well?

1: Yes it could have. This can be overcome with a lot of proof and facetime together. (guessing he is the youngest)

2: No, doing the process if marriage before the divorce decrees had to be sent in. If you marry in the us while he in fact is married to someone else then the marriage in the us will not be valid.

More clear answers to number 1 can be obtained by using the search tool and reading up on threads in your country portal. There are many many prior threads on this. Read up and do some research so that you can be prepared.

I think if the difference in age between man and woman would affect but in our case we are same sex males, I do not see how the difference in age will affect?

Is any one here who has previous experience or can make this clear?

Assuming you, the USC, are older, yes it an still have an effect. You have one less "issue", that is that you could not have biological children anyways, so age won't matter in this regard. But any relationship where there are big differences (age, religion, educational achievement) will face closer scrutiny.

He is single

Please I need more clear responses to Question 1

About the age difference all depends of the Consular Officer and his moods. My fiance is from Nigeria and he is 30 years younger than I am, he wasn't even asked about our age difference, we had a small question to confirm we met talking about web design, CO asked about my ads and my web design company, nothing else. The interview was normal as about any couple. Yes we have time together, in 1 year I visited 4 times.

Good luck, in love anything is possible

1.You said his religion allows polygamy , yes that's correct , different sex, but same sex ??!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think so because it is forbidden to have same sex marriage , it is against bother the culture and religion .

2. Age differences could be a red flag , here in Egypt the difference between the husband and wife should be less that 22 years , this is my information , may be they changed the law.

What do you consider the starting point of a red flag? 10 years, 15 years, 20 years?

I think the same sex will not face any problems in age difference ?

But any body here can assure this?

No one can assure you anything. First of all same sex couple from an Arab country is a red flag. Second of all age difference from an Arab country even when the couple are not same sex is a red flag. The only way anyone can assure anything is you and your fiancé have to prove your relationship.
