A US citizen can visit the UK for 90 days without needing a visa.

A US citizen would need a visa to visit for more than 90 days.

A US citizen has no right to live in the UK.

a USC can stay in the UK i think its 3months max before they need to return... A USC can stay longer if 1 they have a dual citizenship or 2 there mother or father is a british born citizen

There are some UK immigration website that is fill of helpful information on different visa types and have a community of people applying for visa's for the UK... I would join 1 of those forums that are similar to this 1 expect for the UK they should be able to answer all your question and advice you on the best visa to get

There is no such thing as a "long stay" visa. There are only "visitor" visas.

It would be very strange for your newborn to "visit" with the grandparents without you or your husband. Sure looks like your child is living illegally in the UK if granted a visitor visa.

There is no legal way for you to do what you want. Sorry.
