I'm filing soon the I-130's for my wife and for my step-son. One for each. I understand I need to file and I-864 as well for each. My questions are:

1. On each I-864 do I only fill out the number of people for household size as the petitioner on that specific I-864 and me? That is 2? Or do I need to make it 3 since there will actually be three (myself and the two separate petitioners--my wife and my step-son)?

2. If it is 3 people total, and my income is shy of the threshold, what is the household size that need to be listed on the joint sponsor's I-864?

Thank you.

The I-864 wont be needed for many months.

You file the I-130 first and when that's approved (can take up to 6 months), then you do the I-864.

Since it could be after April that your I-130 is approved, I would wait until then to complete it because you will need 2016 tax return which you don't have yet.
