Are Asians Increasingly Undergoing Plastic Surgery to Look White?

Luz is always telling me she wants to get a nose job and lighten her skin. I just can't seem to convince her that her features are desirable and beautiful. We should all be proud of the ethnic features we have. It's where we come from and part of what makes us what we are.

I do find it odd that some people that have brown skin want to lighten it and yet a lot of white Americans spend big bux to sit in tanning booths to get dark. I say just be happy with what you have.

Gary you took the words out of my mouth, or should I say "fingers". Anyway Lira always says she wishes she was lighter. I think she is perfect and wouldn't change a thing about her. The white girls, at least around here, are always going to tanning beds and sun-bathing to get darker. Mags hit the nail on the head, noone is satisfied with what they have.

Lucky, I dont work on my own car for the same reason, I want it done right, so I get someone that knows what they are doing. Of course it always costs a lot of money.

LOL good point. I don't fix everything myself. I just bought a used car from a dealership and they were supposed to have changed the rear differential fluid. Yesterday I change it (put in synthetic) and the oil was dark and there was no way they changed it 1000 miles ago like they said.

Even when you pay 'experts' they may not do it right or at all.

I do brakes, spark plugs, fluids, filters etc... wearable items.

I'm attracted to darker skin. It looks warm and sensual to me. I've always been a beigey, light-eyed non-white Arab, but the all that tanning Caucasians do has pegged me as white in the minds of many lately, which I find disturbing. I make a lousy white person; strictly a poser.

I may pay someone to do parts. For example out stairwell has a very high ceiling. I may pay someone to do that.

actually, the reason a lot of Asian women use 'lightening' cream or 'white' cream is to get rid of the brown spots from sun damage that we are susceptible to especially as we get older, i dont think that the original purpose was truly meant to bleach your entire face although it may be used that way i suppose

i know a lot of Korean girls that have had either their eyes or nose altered either for aesthetics or in the case of double eye surgery, i know a few girls that had it done very young, like 5 because their eyelashes grew straight down and poked them in the eyes and constantly irritated them- which sounds strange until you actually see someone with this problem

i've often wondered this question myself though, do Asians alter their looks surgically to look more Caucasian or is it that the cultural standards of beauty just happens to be in line with a face that is considered beautiful also in the west?

i havent had anything done and dont criticize those that have had work done because in the end, if that's what makes them happy then they should do it to improve their own self-confidence and self-satisfaction but when i was young, i do remember being teased incessantly about my 'chinky' eyes and flat face and that truly hurt.

thankfully, my thick skin helped me from being too affected by it
