Hi to all that have replied. I've read every single one. Some of you have said maybe I've been scared away. Quite the contrary....I've been enjoying every reply that has been made. I've been in groups about other topics before so I know how some people can be. And I have to say that I've never been this entertained ever. For you men who have replied or have just been reading....I'm sure you're probably saying the same thing I've been saying...."just look at all the hens coming out of the wood work....cackle cackle cluck cluck"

To those of you who were intelligent enough to understsand my post and have actually replied to my requests of learning sources, I say truly and sincerely, between laughs and giggles, thank you. I've checked out all the learning aids mentioned. I think some of them will be very helpful.

Thanks again to all of you and please keep the replies coming. Laughter is the best medicine and right now I've never been more healthy.

Connie

P.S. Can't wait to share this with Tarek.

There are no husbands that post here, or rarely do. Passive aggressive insults are rarely taken well, Connie, so you can end your sexist rant now, because laughs won't be the medicine you're taking if you choose to continue down that path. Many of us speak arabic and/or darija, so let us know if you need this translated for Tarek before you share it with him.

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

Connie

I was only trying to help.

you dont sound to positive about the interview (yes i know you have yet to file). i hope you understand how difficult it really is to go through this immigration process. it is no joke, really, no joke.

i see you are going through Jordan.

what is it like going through that consulate? is it tough? it would be good to hear from those who went through there to fill you in on the situation there.

chi

we went through Morocco which is considered as high fraud country.

Our interview is April 24 :)

Jordan is not too bad-- slow but doesn't tend to jerk you around once they manage to make a decision and give you a visa. Jordan is on the fraud list but it's not as high as some other countries. As far as what I have heard, Jordan got a boost in the fraud department once they started to take over Iraq's immigration, which could be a simple numbers game-- more people more fraud.

There is quite a lot of information in this forum provided by Sarah T and others about what to expect in Casa, then quite a bit more about the very important matters of culture and religion provided by GEG, Henia, and others. People here obviously care enough to take the time to do this, but that doesn't mean we have to pretend there aren't red flags, especially when someone asks specifically if they are going to have problems.

Again, I'm tired of the "my husband said...." stuff. If we truly care about each other as women, if not individually at least as a group of human beings in similar situations, then we'll voice these concerns rather than continue the status quo of covering up. When the chips fall (as we've seen countless times in these relationships), who is standing for you and who has fled?

Esalaam/Hello

Aaaaaaaaand few hours later it gets to be 9 pages.... But I do totally believe you here Peezey! As we all here are going throu the INS BS... (and Connie is not directed at you, nothing to do with you or your orginal post...is just general statement, sorry had to hijack it) we all here going throu this BS...some longer then others. We are able spent hours and insane amounts of money talking to our men and fighting the "system"... I think as humans, women in this time should also get inside the cultural minds of our men. I sure know I have benefited from a taste of my husband's culture and background. Our relationship has grown into something much much better. I understand his thinking more and appreciate (now) various things he did or does that I could possibly grasp before.

I think the language group that Kerwin suggested is such a great idea and think a group to understand would also be great idea! To bad there is not one now!

We;re up against the interview now.. so maybe I can get some together before the interview? Will be hard... but... I did mention it before in my file with the initial applications but maybe I can scrounge some letters!

Juliana,

The best advice I got from here was to make sure my fiance was comfortable with our 'red flags' so that if he were asked about them he could answer without becoming agitated, arousing suspicion in the CO. Yes it is best to address to them with the original petition, but like you I did not find out about this until after the fact. I just asked my fiance how he felt about x y and z and he replied. The only red flag he was actually asked about was my previous marriage to a moroccan, but because we had discussed it (in more detail than he cared to know but it turned out to be a good thing we did because that was the one thing they focused on!!) he was able to answer them comfortably and I am happy to report is now with me. :D All that said to say, don't worry about it. Deal with what is in front of you now and don't worry about what you should have done then.

Thanks :) I did say something about it very candidly in my letter accompanying the I-130 and I-129Fs so it's not like it's unknown! But I have 26 people in mind for letters, and we'll see what I can get. I'm sure it will be a mix of hand-written and typed, but whatever! I sent him a bunch of photos from out last trip and one he said he couldn't print-- we're kissing and he wanted to "protect my modesty" LOLOL so I said OK... and I was htinking $35 for DHL is sooo not worth one photo.. but... if I had some letters to send.. LOL!

Thanks again for the listings, without being to personal wondering if some that have had some of these problems would say a little something about them, which areas etc. and the outcomes.

Juliana, I posted interview tips on the Casablanca thread. They should be useful to you and your husband. You still have time to incorporate them in your plan.

Thanks :) I copied them and sent them to my Dh and I'll keep a copy for me to go through and see where i can help him. I think the main issue we will have is that he is really a somewhat conservative muslim and conservative in culture-- I'm trying to get him to agree to show a picture of us kissing right now, but he feels he has to protect my modesty. So it's a push-pull.

heheh I think all couples have one of those. I convinced my (then) fiance NOT to show it at the consulate interview. BUT boy you can bet when they wanted more photos I gladly sent that one along. Modesty and my ideas of privacy went right out the window!
