We got married at city hall so that we could get the ball rolling on AOS. A few months later we had a nice reception with about 150 guests. I had many guests (mostly men) thank me for letting them just come to a party with good food and open bar and not have to sit through a ceremony.

New Jersey doesn't have JPs, but we were married by a judge. We had about 6 people there, went out to lunch, then had cake and champagne at my apartment.

I really wish we could have had a big ceremony and we had started planning one for our 2nd anniversary but then I got a (really great) job offer across the country and it was either move or have the ceremony. So we moved.

Our wedding was small and intimate, some family and friends at a pretty little registry office.....we then had a small reception at a local pub. It was a perfect day.

We had a small wedding....about 30-35 people with only closest friends and family. In the beginning we were wanting a bigger wedding, but since we had no clue when he'd be getting his visa it was impossible to try to reserve a place. The way it worked out was at the time my daughter was going to a preschool that was affiliated with a small church. The pastor that was also the daycare director....her and the staff knew from the beginning what I was going through, saw me through many tears, etc and was part of my support system when I was about to lose hope. When Khallid finally received his visa, the pastor told me that they wanted to do our marriage for us, free of charge as their gift to us, if it was ok with everyone. They did everything from the decorating right down to the music. It was awesome! Looking back now we wouldn't have changed a thing. Well....we do wish his family could have been here....that's the one thing we would changed.

P.S Theres pics in my profile if you want to take a peek!

destination wedding. just us in Key West, although Hurricane Rita had other plans. We were evacuated a day before the wedding. sooo while on the highway, we planned a meetup with our officiant and photographer. we all wound up in FT Lauderdale at a beautiful British Colonial Resort

we were married in the pavilion over looking the intercoastal. (you can see it on the right).

poolatnight.jpg

the only thing we DID pay extra for was the photographer. we wanted to remember this since we were the only ones attending.

ETA: since we didnt have invites, we did the announcement thing. i did the crafty thing, but had to *edit* the date anyway since we were married a day later waiting for the hurricane to pass :P

We were married in a small ceremony (20 people) in a mansion here in Tulsa, with a reception for about 80 people afterwards. Beautiful day, turned out fantastic. My only regret is that certain family members and friends from Canada couldn't be there. We made up for it by having two open house receptions in Canada close to a year afterwards.
