I think that there will be someone there speaking the native tounge. They might ask about the fiance not speaking English though (as far as how you two communicate, do you speak his language?). I only ask cause there has been someone on here who said he didn't speak his fiances language and she didn't speak any English!

yes... we both speak french fluently.. I'm just afraid that would raise suspicions.

If you both speak French I can't see why it would be any problem! They don't expect everyone who lives in a foreign country to speak English!

When I had my interview, the CO asked first few questions in my native languange (Indonesian), but I always answer in English because that's how we communicate - hubby is not familiar with my native lang. He changed to English for the rest of interview.

Oct 29 2004 : Received at CSC

Nov 8 2004 : Received response from CSC that my file is being requested & review will be done

Nov 10 2004 : Email & online status Approved

Nov 15 2004 : NOA 2 in mail

Dec 16 2004 : NVC assigns case number

Dec 20 2004 : NVC sent DS 3032 to beneficiary, copy of DS 3032 & I-864 fee bill to petitioner

Jan 3 2005 : Petitioner received copy of DS 3032 and I-864 fee bill. Post-marked Dec 23rd.

Jan 11 2005 : Beneficiary received DS 3032 in Indonesia

Jan 31 2005 : Sent DS 3032 to NVC

Feb 8, 2005 : NVC received DS 3032

Feb 21, 2005 : IV fee generated

7/8/05 - Biometrics for AOS complete in Milwaukee(walk-in)

11/16/05 Interview in Milwaukee - AOS APPROVED!!

9/17/07 Mailed in I-751 to NSC

10/15/07 Received NOA - Case transferred to California

12/27/07 E-mail stating that new card is ordered

12/31/07 10 year Green Card received! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

8/22/08 Sent in N-400 for naturalization

11/19/08 Passed the interview

1/12/09 Received letter about oath ceremony

1/29/09 Oath Ceremony - US Citizen!!

1/29/09 Changed status at Social Security office, applied for US Passport

Mine was in English... The CO just asked me if I speak English and I said yes. After that he just spoke in English.

Usually they will conduct the interview in either language...which ever you prefer and which ever is easiest for you to communicate in.

i believe so too, in Mexico interviews are in spanish or english

09-14-2010 Boston's biggest ceremony of naturalization, I'm a citizen now! :)
