Yes I went to apply with my combo card, passport and mariage certificate.

they gave me a receipt with a reference number saying it could take to 4 weeks since that I called maybe twice a week to see if it was processed because USCIS have to approved it first...

I had a job interview 10 days ago and the training was supposed to start yesterday but couldnt attend it with my SSN .

Wow, USCIS has to approve it even with an EAD card??

Not so much approve as it is verifying with USCIS that you are validly authorized to work......meaning it is not case file sittiing on a desk at USCIS,

it's no different from DMV verifying your immigration status with USCIS before issuance of Drivers licence even after you present a physical unexpired GC

National Benefits Center (also known as MSC) processes all the cases and then send your AOS (I-485) case to your local field office in your case which happens to be california who then review your case and schedule an interview based on their processing timeline.

California has many, many field offices, s/he needs to figure out which one s/he belongs to. We didn't get more info than "california", so it's hard to say.

I know! Ahh, I have been a bit slacking on that. Time to scramble it together. They usually outline what you need to bring in in the letter they send right? Time to do some research. :help:

From what I read, they will tell you what's needed.

Some people do recommend you bring all you had sent originally but not sure if that makes a difference.
