Have you asked to be transferred to a tier 2 ? They should be able to give you more info.Lately, it's been taking less time than usual for a call back.(about 1h30-50mn).

Thank you so much.  I will try right now.

I'll post here if successful.

even the customer service person can read out what's in your SR if you ask them nicely. I said " ohhh i am soo confused why i am not able to see the response on my email" and i was like" can you please please help me check whether it was mail or email and if you can read it out for me". she agreed and told me that the response was " it's under normal processing time, please wait"

That's if you get a nice one. Only had one so far , shes the reason I even knew I had a rfie.Otherwise they are so dismissive.

Apparently, it's supposed to be 30 days from the date they receive it ( they officially received mine on the 20th).

No, not even the ombudsman.I found out you could place a complaint to their supervisor or the department of Homeland ( something like that). The guy acted like everything was simple and known, like I told him " I'm the immigrant, I don't work at Uscis, explain to me the steps and when/ how should I reach out at which moment ,just like you, it's no fun for me to call with a million questions because your agency can't be transparent ".

Just be careful with what you say and how you say it when you speak to anyone at USCIS. Through my time here on VJ I've seen a few cases where the applicant was calling too many times or was too "rude" when calling and was told that if they keep doing that something might happen to their case. And it turned out that their cases took much longer than they should have, and a few were even sent to a storage place "by mistake" which delayed the whole thing with several months.

It's just a little heads-up, but I firmly believe that if you call too often, send too many service requests and so on, that they can mess with your case. So just be careful.

Thank god i haven't had to call lately. It seems like a customer service officer from when I got my rfie created 2 requests to have them reach out. They have just reached out to me lately. So I asked about my case when they called me .Only called uscis once to verify the "646" number wasn't a scam.

Ive thought about all you are saying myself. I manage to keep my cool, like I even said to the officer " i understand it's not your fault , I just need an idea of when to expect anything so I can relay it to prospect employers ".I let him know though I would ask to speak to a supervisor when he tried to hang up on me mid-sentence.

Guys, friendly reminder that USCIS is understaffed, and there is a reason why they raise their fees every several years. These people work on thousands of cases every day and therefore some take longer than others. It's understandable that we get frustrated when things seem to be going slow but let's also try to remember why this happens. They're working on your cases, and all will be processed accordingly. Then add to that the number of calls and online requests they have to deal with on a daily basis, at every hour of the day.  I don't fault the USCIS, even if they are understaffed and aren't perfect in their processes, because after all we are the immigrants and they are not granting us a right but a privilege by giving us resident status, and that's unfortunately how the world works.

So hang in there guys, time flies and it'll all be over sooner than you expect. (L)

I totally agree with your statement.

This said, they probably wouldn't receive so many calls/ requests if they would just give you more coherent answers. People would wait patiently ( at least I would) if we were given an idea of what/ when to expect things. And yes, things happen and the deadline may not be met but any reasonable person would get that. When they tell you " we will work on your case shortly" what on earth does that mean ? Shortly may mean 2 weeks to one and 1 day to another. Like the ombudsman reports indicated , they need to improve on their customer service / communication to become more efficient.

So last night when we checked our mail, we got a SR response. Standard, we are working on it and will have an answer shortly.

What I found interesting is that it took almost a week to arrive. It was mailed on Monday from MI, and only arrived yesterday. So that could be part of the issue.

So I just received a notice for the card being produced.  However, it was only updated for the I-765 and not the I-131.  Anybody else experience something similar?  I applied for them together do one would think that they would cover both as the card was being produced.  At this point though, we have our interview on Thursday so will probably be done with the interview before we actually receive the card.
