Also, my husband and I went to go get the ITIN done, and the IRS guy told us we were wasting our time. He said we can file to have an extension on when our taxes are due, since I will be getting my EAD & SSN by next month (if everything goes according to plan). Just a thought.

Can anyone tell me what this means?  I got both of these in reference to work authorization and travel....

 

I'm not sure what they mean by appeal??

 

The appellate authority approved your appeal and mailed you a decision. Your case, is being transferred back to the originating office for completion. If you do not hear from the originating office by April 21, 2017, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Since this tax issue was brought up. I have a question for anyone willing to chip in their thoughts.

 

Since it takes 9 weeks to get ITIN, I have decided, since I will get a refund for sure, I will rather file a tax return extension (usually it's good for 6 months)  and when i get my mom's EAD In couple of weeks hopefully,She can apply for SSN and when issued(will still be way less than nine weeks) and then I can file and claim her as dependent?

 

Is there anything wrong/disadvantage(s) with this Idea please?

On March 22, 2017, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXX, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

So how many days did it take ?? ( without the rfe delay ) .

Did you get your EAD in the mail as response to  the SR or was that a different update?

I don't know if my SR response or conversation with the tier 2 IO had any effect on the actual approval of my EAD.

 

I just placed it in there so that everyone would be able to see every significant point that led up to the approval.

 

The IO did say that they're going in order of PD (minus those with RFEs though). So it might just be due to the fact that they might be working on cases on and around my PD.

I can't think of none.

I mean, you can claim her as a dependent in both cases . Like I said, an Itin has to be processed first (7-9 weeks) for your refund to then be issued ( 4-8 weeks). 

Going the Ssn road, it takes about 10 business days to receive your Ssn card.So it may definitely be faster to go the Ssn road.

Day 100 counting the RFIE, 79 if my case was put on hold and 50 days after RFIE response received.

 

Hopefully yours will be put into production soon since our PD is the same.

I just got my EAD approval, so I am going to guess it was the SR.

Tried to reach Tier 2 officer yesterday since I didn't get a response to my SR, but the Tier 1 wouldn't let me go through her.

That's what I said too... I didn't bother to get it. They said all you could do when u get the ssn is to amend your taxes.

Plus they can always amend the taxes once they get the ssn

Still no news on EAD/AP..but who cares?! We're schedule for our interview next month!! Wahoooo!!!!! 

 

Will try to figure this ITIN tax thing out in the mean time. Anybody know if taxes sent in with the ITIN will be counted late if they've been filed before tax day, but aren't processed before then (because the ITIN will take processing priority)?

Thanks mrs. felicia. We are thrilled!! 

I'd been checking for EAD/AP updates religiously and considering putting in a service request for it when the time came (today is only Day 85). But we saw the interview was scheduled today and aren't in the least bit concerned about the EAD/AP any more lol

 

We're in (Columbus) Ohio. Which, according to the USCIS website, lad is to expect a 5-6 months wait. So thankful to God it came sooner. I hope the same for others!
