@Mthldou Do you mean the immigrant having no Ssn ?

For things like cable, you can call your company and ask them to add your name. Basically the same for banking , etc...

Some may be reluctant , if you have an Itin, you can try using that. It's worked for me with getting a phone contract / new phone and a few other things.

Tax preparer had told us to be ready for a 7-9 weeks wait in case IRS was processing too many tax returns. 

We applied the last Saturday of January last year , she sent it next Monday. I called IRS in April and turn out they had assigned me a number in March ( the 8 or 9th I believe ) . They just forgot to mail it to me. Anyhow, they can give you your number over  the phone if it's been assigned already. The second letter they sent took me a while to receive.So call when in doubt ???

??I don't know. La bureaucracie is pretty slow , but so is the one here. It's a tie imo ?

This is the email I just received? What does it mean? Called USCIS yesterday for a service request but not an expedite... so why? I'm confused.

Interesting....Maybe because you have already crossed 90 day mark they changed your request into a Expedite.

I don't know what happened exactly. I have no legit reason to expedite so I have no clue. We shall see. I didn't want to expedite because I have to reason to and plus I didn't want to take time out of someone else's case

I was just going to ask you what happened to yours.

i had to go hand all my documents to my congresswoman's office yesterday morning and today , when I check on my service request for I-785 , it said : 

On March 9th , Service request *** was assigned to an officer 

on March 9th, We sent a response to your inquiry 

on March 9th , your inquiry was completed 

 

Curious as to what that means since I haven't received any email yet and my I765 still says Case received , December 13th .

if it was assigned to an officer and it was a SR, i think it will be issued soon then especially if you have crossed 90 days mark

I hope so . Though looking at past threads, I've realized it seems like all this means is that you're getting a letter long of excuses !!

??? I'm at day 87 and thanks to my congresswoman and/or my service request from 2 weeks ago, USCIS has just realized they needed to send me a RFE !!!! 

I can't believe this, I've asked 2 weeks ago and there was no rfe , all smooth and now they suddenly realize 3 days before the 90 day mark that I do have one for my I-485 application, meaning none of my other applications can be processed until this is resolved .

My service request was saying "has been processed", I call and learn they've actually sent me a RFE, which I was expecting at first and then was told there would be none 3 times.

 

End of my rant !! ???

I am seeing the same thing regarding my service request. I'm clueless to what the hell it means. Like you I have not received an email or nothing
