Have faith.. might be that you are still undergoing some background checks which make it a bit delayed.

I was told by a Tier 2 officer that if you came in through a K-1 visa, the background checks are not that much comprehensive since they have done it at 129-F level. But if you file your I-485 alongside an I-130, it will be more comprehensive and might take longer.

Thanks, and yes you are right, it does take longer for concurrent filing candidates

New update:

I applied for a California Driver License today. I passed the written test and now looking forward for the actual driving exam anytime next week! ???

Did you get an ead yet or does California allow you to drive without a Ssn ?? Just curious , we can't do nothing here in NYC without the damn Ssn ?

I think it is pretty normal not to get an update. Even my i-485 has been unchanged since december saying they received my fees. For some people in earlier years i have observed it changes from that to directly interview has been scheduled and we have sent you a letter, skipping the "ready for interview" status altogether.

Unfortunately all this is a mish-mash of assumptions and nothing more. It is totally justified for you to get scared, although i am 99 percent convinced of what i said above, i also doubt sometimes if they have sent me an RFE which i have not received nor gotten a online update for

If there is no change on the online status, they might be doing some background checks which takes weeks to be completed. That is what they informed me and I know they are not saying a generic response as the real backlog of the cases are in the background checks level.

Ive been trying to reach a Tier 2 officer today but its mission impossible. 1 hour wait I call again now it's call back in 2-3 hours, the department is closed ( too many calls ).

I already had my EAD since my 67th day. I enrolled for my SSN 2 weeks after I got here on a K1 visa entry. CA state will not allow you to get a driver license without a Valid SSN unless you are not in a legal capacity to get it for some reason.

However, it is always imperative to get SSN before applying for a driver license here in CA. I think it applies too with the rest of the states.

Thanks IIeaka!! ?

My mom's in NYC... it's harder to drive there as everything is fast-paced.

Exam tips:  don't change lane unless the examiner tells you so. And do not ask them where to go, wait for instructions. My friends here told me those are the stuff most people get failed. ?

I'll keep that in mind, thanks ? ?

Nyc drivers are ?, no sense of danger whatsoever. Add to that our car is a Tahoe and I'm a first time learner , it's safe to say I'm freaked out.????

Don't try to reach a tier 2 to ask if they sent an RFE.

If you didn't receive nothing and the there is not RFE update online, then you didn't get one.

I believe that they are behind on processing our cases. Some K1 filers from Jan have their cases ready to be schedule for IV. Once they reach ours, its either an RFE or a case ready to be schedule for an IV.

I am not feeling rushed atm since only "50% of the cases around mine on the "Case tracker" app  got the case ready for IV" update, while the rest are either fees received, or RFE response received.

No, not calling about a Rfe. I already asked the officer I spoke to last week, she said there's no rfe pending.

I was told to do an inquiry today by that lady as my case had no issues and should have received an update or Ead approval ( according to her, after more than a month  past bio with no rfe , you shall be getting an approval/ update) .

Was wondering if a tier 2 could help me see what has happened to my case and whether an inquiry was worth it .

as somebody pointed out earlier the only reason ours might be stuck, would be because of the background check backlog....

At this point  I can't even reach a tier 2 officer, they have a stop order until tomorrow. I guess I'll wait a few days and see what happens.
