Hi everyone !

I just came out after a long ordeal and ....got a stamp on my passport ! Green card in the mail soon.

We arrived right before 10 am (thank you Manhattan traffic ) and had to go to different rooms to get to the final room.We barely waited 5 minutes before being called by the officer.

He asked us  the same questions again and again ( to see if we would fail) : birthdays, parents names, who is who in family pictures, wedding day etc... . Also asked for our joint documents and he told us he would like to see more proof since  I would be getting a 10 year green card. Then he checked my new medical exam. Then we restarted back and forth lasted for a while ( how did you meet again, when did you fall in love, when did you start dating etc..) .He was going to ask for more evidence again when my husband asked him about the trip I'm taking tomorrow back home to Paris with my mother-in-law.Officer asked for the flights info and then why I was traveling with my mother in law.He then declared he would approve us since we had been a couple for almost a decade and that was the ultimate proof. He then went above and beyond, rushing our case so I could get a stamp. We had to wait another hour for that to be done and VOILA, passport is stamped !! All in all, It took us a good 2 hours. But all set for the next 10 years !

Thank you for all your help here on Visajourney ! And good luck to all those still waiting for their interview.

Congratulations ! 10 year GC and stamping done ! Yay

Nothing unfortunately.

My Senator is on the case. They have been telling his office that my case is in background checks and telling me that it is in my local office ready for IV since August.

Yesterday they told the Senators office that it is in queue for IV since 10/8/2017.

Waiting. Medical will expire in 40 days although if I wait 2 month I get 10-year GC. Not sure what to do.

what is the online case status of i-485 say ? going by what you just said seems like it is stuck in Fingerprint received stage ?

I guess on the bright side you will directly get the 10 year Gc and skip the ROC hoop.

For me, my state is still officially backed up to 14 months and USCIS gives generic replies, although another member from my state @sausa got a interview call 4 months faster than the Field office average, so u never know.  My medicals also expire end of November, and i guess i will just apply for EAD/AP renewal considering it can be done upto 180 days in advance.

Thanks ! Card was mailed earlier this week and should be here by Friday so a week from interview to card received .

So you will be getting a conditional card, right ?? That’s a bit annoying since you’re a few months away from a 10 year old. Good luck with your interview .

So the letter I got for my interview next week did ask for a medical. Is my medical still valid seeing that I did it in October but my PD is December 12

medical is only valid for 1 year from the date on the medical. It has nothing to do with priority date. Make sure to do you medical again before you go !

Congrats and best of luck

You will need another medical exam. It is not worth risking a denial of your application over a medical. The policy of USCIS is very clear regarding the same. However, you should ping other forum experts to confirm

Anyone from Florida? I just trying to understand if they are a bit behind for Hurricane Irma or if just my local office it's super slow.  Processing time is still "as August 31 we are processing September 12" so it's not show currently status of my local office. My pd is December 23 and the most recent communication I had with USCIS was my change of address. :clock::huh:

Where in Florida? I think South Florida might be a bit behind because of the hurricane as the field offices were closed for almost a week even after Irma passed. Our field office is Jacksonville and our PD was December 21, 2016. We were scheduled for our interview on October 23rd, 2017. You can start a service request once your PD fall outside the range of what is shown online but besides that there isn't much to do but wait.

I see it's Oakland Park. Sorry didn't see the field office listed the first time.

Thanks for your reply. I live in Hollywood (Broward county) so my field office is in Oakland Park :)
