This morning I (finally) got my interview date through! We're having ours at the Seattle local office on September 14th!

I was actually surprised it came through without warning, but I'm not going to complain!

What type of warning were you expecting?

I was kind of expecting an update to the myCase USCIS site first, even though I know it's horrendously unreliable.

Aha, I thought you got the good news via your case status. Yes just like you say it's very unreliable. But the important thing is that you got the letter at least, for some people it's the other way around that's much worse. :o

Congrats to moving forward btw! It's such a nice feeling to finally have a date, it's relaxing somehow.

Oh yes - I realised I didn't specify that it came through the mail in written form!

Thank you! It's exciting and relaxing at the same time - it's very strange! But both me and my husband are glad things are moving along (visibly) now ^_^

Update on our service request:

Two days after we called, our SR was assigned and completed. I didn't get any notification but saw it through checking the app. It said an update had been sent. We got it in the mail Wednesday. It literally says nothing--our case is still pending and they can't tell us when it will be completed.

So frustrating. What's the point of an SR?

For AOS there really isn't a point putting in a SR until at least one year has passed since the received date. Even after a year you can still get the same reply as you just got though, which sucks. SRs are a little easier for applications like EAD and AP as they have a more specific timeframe in which the application should be adjudicated (used to be 90 days, now a bit longer than that). Cases like AOS and ROC on the other hand don't really have a "deadline", USCIS can basically take as much time as they want with those applications. <_<

Hi Guys,

Any update or anyone heard of the latest processing date for Saint Paul office? I know the website is saying May 2016, but was trying to search the forums for actual timelines. Going on 8 months soon. This is getting annoying.

Did u check the latest timeline, I think Minnesota is the slowest in the country now. As of June 30 they are still processing May 17.

Almost 13.5 month lag, they seem to be processing just 2 weeks in a month.

Don't know what to do. Nothing can be done but wait I guess ?

SR is merely to avoid blame and leadership team in USCIS can avoid criticism like "hey we have this, why didn't you use this...? (so it is your fault)"

Anyway, your case seems to be quite similar to mine with my timeline, and the same field office (Chicago).

(I had RFIE as well around FEB, 2017).

There are two big solutions, knowing that someone with similar case and timeline already has been approved for AOS

1) Inquiry to Senator's office

To respond this, I inquired to Senator's office and it worked such a great that they scheduled the interview. I wrote the letter stating that why I needed EAD/AP initially without expectation of scheduling interview, (because my RFIE was about I-864, so I needed EAD from AOS to continue working on my OPT-based professional opportunity) with supporting documents.

Later USCIS congressional liason office scheduled my case to Chicago field office for interview date, which was July. The interview was all done well, so as GC on my hand in late July. It is also reasonable to expect that USCIS liason officers won't just say to congressmen's office "we don't know, there are too much work to do other than this case, which is why this case is not further processing", but at least they will provide hint of why your case is delayed such as FBI background check, or missing documents, or under Fraud Detection Unit.

So with this hint, you can respond more proactively and expect what comes next stage.

Although no two cases are exactly the same, considering your timeline and the local field office are the quite similar, I believe you should get your interview date soon unless your case is under review by Fraud detection unit or FBI background check, in which case congressional inquiries,at the bottom line, provide you why it is delayed.

2) DHS's ombudsmen office complaints.

Similar to congressional inquiries, it has the same, but it is more like internal auditors hitting on the responsible immigration service officers reviewing your case. Unless there are specific reasons mentioned above (like FBI name check, or fraud detection unit), it has the same effects.

I prefer to choose congressional inquries just because I trust congressional office better. When you are writing a letter to both congressmen's office or DHS's ombudsmen office, make sure you state that other cases with similar timeline, or even later filling date have been successfully approved while you have little idea of why your case is delayed, which is main reason you are writing this letter. Reasonably speaking, this is enough to trigger USCIS's proactive response especially in involvement of congressional office.

Hope this helps

I'm really not sure what to do or if I should be contacting the congressmen next.

We filed our AoS concurrently (F1) and received text/email confirmation for case received on 12/21/2016. Nothing has happened to the case since then. I-130 says case received on 12/21/2016 and I-1485 says finger print fee received on 12/31/2016.

The processing timeline for Jacksonville, FL went from October 21, 2016 to December 21, 2016 in the recent update. Since the processing time says as of June 30, I'd think that our case that was received on December 21st should be ready to looked at, and an interview scheduled. Yet, we haven't heard anything. We never got any RFEs either. So we've been waiting for almost 8 months without any update besides case was received.

It still shows that the NBC has our case, even if the processing time for our field office has gone to December 21st, 2016 now. The phone calls aren't helpful (they regurgitate the same thing that's online), and I raised an SR a couple of days ago. SR is still not assigned for processing.

Getting quite irritated at this point, especially since the field office dates have jumped 6 weeks since the last processing time update, and our case still seems to be at the NBC.

Should I contact the congressmen next? Ombudsman? If anyone has sent such request in the past, please let me know how you went about it.

Thanks!

I've found those processing timelines to be widly erratic and not neccessarily covering all the dates between the ranges I've been tracking (esp for the Seattle office, where I'm filing).

As you're right on the cusp of their 'current' processing dates, I'd say wait until the next update (probably in a couple weeks), and then submit an SR or, better yet, call them and explain your case is beyond their current reporting times.

I would like to believe this is more likely to trigger some kind of response or extra info. If you call before the date it says they're up to, then the agent on the phone just re-iterates that you're 'still within normal processing times' etc etc

Did you file for (and receive) your EAD and AP at the same time? (its helpful for us if you fill in your timeline too! it'll save people asking the same questions of you over and over again)

Hi, yes I did. I received the EAD/AP combo back in April.

I have just been browsing and keeping an eye on the thread since we filed for AoS, so I never ended up filling out my timeline. I will try to do it sooner than later, so other people can get an idea, as well.

We will wait until the end of this month or until the next update, and hopefully we will have an interview date soon.

Thanks so much!

Had my interview today, and and and.... It's APPROVED. They approved our case and the status changed to New Card being Produced even before we reached home. Interview went well and the interviewer was really professional and easy going she asked for our marriage documents, latest tax returns, and Life insurance policies which we didn't have it at that moment but she as okay with it and said it's fine no problem. She asked us just the basic question. So relieved to get done with this. Thanks to everyone on this forum all those key information really helped us a lot. Good luck to everyone.
