My mom got her GC last friday.. marking the end of this journey.

I am really grateful to the This group & VJ community for the invaluable resource you guys are...

Special thanks to  @Megha13 , @trpr . In Early May, once you both confirmed your local offices had scheduled interview when the USCIS website was showing processing July 2016 cases. It gave me the conviction that some offices are not as bad as USCIS.gov processing times showed,

Hence I did MN field office a favor :D by ensuring my file is NOT added to  their backlogged workload (Thus filling AR11) :D

 @TJSEE ,  @jamaicanwifey  no hard feelings :)   I understand.

Lastly, if you may, please update your timeline (not just signature) It provides more accurate useful VJ stats for processing times.

Sincere apologies too for the disagreements, distractions etc

Best of luck to the rest still waiting... Greenlight should be around the corner here soon

Did you do your interview in some other office?

Yes, My mom relocated.

But no, You  don't just pick where to have yours... In your own case, you will have to relocate possibly with your spouse and you both probably work already so it's not likely feasible i would think...

Plus you only filed @ end of April and your local office is MN... So i'd say take a deep breathe and relax.. Your AOS journey is more like a marathon  and not a sprint... you will need all the endurance, patience.

Best of luck

Had my interview yesterday. Got verbal approval and the paper that says "case recommended for approval " but my case tracker hasn't updated online. She said I'd receive the card within 30 days. Am I supposed to get an update on my email/phone?

I got an approval notice at my interview as well but it didn't say "recommended for approval", it said something like "you're approved, welcome to the United States" or something like that, and I received the approval email and text before we had even left his office.

So what I think about your case is that you were interviewed by someone who doesn't have the authority to approve you on her own, but that she recommends you for an approval and will have to get the actual approval from a supervisor later on. This shouldn't be an issue at all since she recommends you to be approved it might just take a few days for that supervisor to actually get to stamp your papers approved.

You didn't leave the office with a paper that says "case is under review" either, so you'll be just fine, I'm sure. It might just take a few days extra. Could also be that your case status was never updated even if your case was approved, we all know that case status thingy only works sometimes, it's not reliable at all. So your status might jump to "card has been mailed" soon.

Either way, congratulations! You're done with the AOS now, look forward to the next step. :D

Hello everyone, I would like to share with you that we just received the text message from USCIS confirming that my mother's interview is schedule for Sept. 8th. That's 259 days after we filed.

We are excited but do have a couple of questions - maybe some of you can help us with:

1) I filed my parents's GCs applications together, but only my mother is being scheduled for interview. Any idea what's happening with my father's GC possibly? Prior to this, they've been on the same schedule for the previous steps.

2) My parents don't speak English, can I as a sponsor also be the interview translator? Or, do I need to bring someone else to translate at the interview? Would bringing my dad's friend to the interview as a translator work?

Thank you all!!!
