AOS December 2016 Filers (merged)

Based on the latest data for the Seattle office, they've processed around 22 days of cases over a 30 calendar day period.

Which puts December filers in the 'we'll get to you in late September' bucket.

(The previous data set I had recorded in my notebook showed they processed around 15 days of cases over a 30 day calendar period).

This makes me a little sad because it's further out than I'd like, but this really is napkin-scribble maths at this point.

We know these data points are delayed, not necessarily accurate, and cases are unlikely to be handled purely chronologically.

So for all I know I could get an interview request next week.

But I doubt it.

Hi guys!! I am now relaxed and brave enough to share with you guys about my interview yesterday because my status hasn't changed anything after the interview. This is how the interview went. We got to the USCIS Santa Ana 15 mins before my appointment which was at 12:00pm. The waiting room is so packed and fully filled with people waiting. We wasn't called until 12:25pm. There is a slot that you can slide your appointment letter in and you just had to wait to be called. The officers are likely randomly picked the appointment letters from there(not sure) and they opened the door and called your name and walked you in. He looked very good with grey suit and seemed nice. He greeted us and smiled. We asked how he was doing? And he asked us either to turn off the phones or put them into airplane mode. Right before we got in his office, he asked for my ID's so he could make a copy of them. He returned my husband's passport but keep my passport in his hands. When we got in the office, I and my husband took a seat and he apologized and asked us stand up so he could swear us in. As we sat down he began asking my husband what his full name was, what his address was, his phone number etc, which I got a little peak that he was confirming all the infomation in the i-135 form. Then he asked for the income and finacial stuffs. My husband gave him his employment letter, W2s of 3 years, pay stubs of the recent 6 months. Then he began with me, he asked me when we got married, and where do i live now? I was having a little bit hestitate when answering his question about the address number because i had to translate from Vietnamese into English in my head. He asked me "you've been living there for 4 years but you dont know the address!" I was a little bit freaked out but my husband throw a bucket of water in the fire by saying that my English is very minimal. And then he asked for my birthday! I again answered it wrong 1889 instead of 1989. The officer corrected me this time. Hahaha. Then he asked my phone number and name of my parents. Then he asked for my original birth certificate and I noticed that he just wanted to compare with the one I submitted in the package and then he went through the YES/NO application questions with me. He asked me about his birthday. He also asked me my entry date. He asked me how we met and when, where was our first date. He asked about our parents and if anyone witnessed us at the marriage ceremony and why there was no family witness us??? he asked me if we have any joint documents with us. We gave him 2016 taxes return, he asked why my husband claimed me for only 2016 but not since 2015 when we got married, he also asked for my new medical exam envelop and ask us why it would take us so long to file for AOS. We answered that we want to get a 10 year GC so that's why we waited and it is so true, I just dont want to go thru another process like this again. Then we handed him the health insurance policy from his job, bank account and a big album with a lot of pictures from our trips ranging from 2014 till 2017. He asked us if he could take some pictures from the album ( around 6-7 pics). Then he told us to relax now and he started to type on the computer. My heart was pounding so hard coz i didn't want to get any paper saying that my case should be reviewed but he printed out 2 papers and he congrated me that i am approved and the card should be delivered to me in the next 90 days. The papers were the approval letter for both i485 and i130. He also informed me that if I ever have an emergency to leave the country, I could come in and get my passport stamped for temporary GC. We were shaking hands with him and then he walked us out. We said goodbye and thanked him and we left. I was superrrrr happyyyyyyyyyy..... at least my miserable days are almost over!!!

Good job! looks like you have done enough.

My question is did they ask you to return EAD/AP by any chance?

Congrats again!

I doubt that since you can still use the EAD until you have your greencard in hand.

My mom got her GC last friday.. marking the end of this journey.

I am really grateful to the This group & VJ community for the invaluable resource you guys are...

Special thanks to  @Megha13 , @trpr . In Early May, once you both confirmed your local offices had scheduled interview when the USCIS website was showing processing July 2016 cases. It gave me the conviction that some offices are not as bad as USCIS.gov processing times showed,

Hence I did MN field office a favor :D by ensuring my file is NOT added to  their backlogged workload (Thus filling AR11) :D

 @TJSEE ,  @jamaicanwifey  no hard feelings :)   I understand.

Lastly, if you may, please update your timeline (not just signature) It provides more accurate useful VJ stats for processing times.

Sincere apologies too for the disagreements, distractions etc

Best of luck to the rest still waiting... Greenlight should be around the corner here soon
