Hey everyone!

I finally got the Card mailed to me status update last week. I called and talked to a tier 2 agent, he said he's gonna notify the local office and just the next day my status got updated!!

But I never received a tracking number, and today I called them, talked to a tier 1 agent and she said I have to wait up to 1 month to receive the card, and it might have not actually shipped out yet!!! (the status says "Card Mailed to Me" lol)

Anyone know how I can find the tracking number?

They never gave me a tracking number when I called. I got my card 3 days later. She said not all cases are updated with the tracking.

changed my Mom's  I-485 address after she moved to Phoenix over 2 weeks ago (May 16, to live with her cousin).

Today, I got notification her interview is scheduled for July 7, 2017.

My I-130 is still with the (world slowest) field office in Minnesota though. So, I hope this does not slow things down as regards the I-485 approval.

Hi all.

I wanted to share my experience regarding travelling on EAD/AP combo. I went to my home country (Egypt) and came back this week.

Was directed to the visa line with my wife (USC) after the officer saw the combo card. 
The CBP guy was pretty nice and we were done in 5 mins. However he said generally, he cannot verify EAD and that I need to go to secondary inspection.

I sat down in the secondary inspection room for 30 mins before I was called. Was asked where I have been to, for how long and why.

Then I was given my passport stamped Parolled.

 

No updates regarding my I-485 application since RFIE received 1/31/17

Congratulations! We haven't heard anything back about my parents' interview!!! slow slow slow

Although i knew this was theoretically possible, i am glad that you did it and it was able to work out. 

 

I would have loved to change my address, but i work and so does my wife and minnesota is our home base, so it doesn't make sense. 

 

Don't know how but will have to endure the torture of waiting another 6 months in minnesota, hopefully things will become faster. Fingers crossed.

Agreed, my situation is more flexible, but more importantly, I'm just relived as my Mom wants to travel back home soonest.

The scariest thing for me about MN is that Sausa has been scheduled for interview since January and it still does not have an interview date yet.  

USCIS customer service rep had requested i write a letter to local office as regards my I-130 informing of address change to the I-485, in addition to filling the AR11. But I hope to schedule an infopass with MN field office to verbally notify this too. But I'll take this sort of inconveniences all day than waiting forever.

Yeah this is getting annoying !!:( i have a job coming up August that requires me to go to another city for 2 months training, and I"d have to be there every week day so worried the interview day is gonna fall in between those dates and require me to come back to MN. 

 

I think whats slowed it down more is that they moved offices? That put them out like a week or two I think. I've seen a lot of people on here say they got interview notices way before uscis processing dates though, hoping we will hear sooner than expected. No one has reviewed the MN office since feb so also kind of hard to see where people are now.

MN has  been slow at least since latter 2015, so I'm not sure about the move this April as being the reason. Perhaps AOS cases are  low priority for MN office.

The stats are indeed grim for MN.

For family based AOS apps in Minnesota from:

06/01 to 09/30/2016, Received: 927   Approved cases: 97   Pending: 3130

10/01 to 12/31/2016, Received: 1034 Approved cases: 201 Pending: 3507

In comparison to Detroit local office

06/01 to 09/30/2016, Received: 1067 approved cases: 1232 Pending: 1950

10/01 to 12/31/2016, Received: 1113 Approved cases: 797 Pending: 2520

 

So as the pending cases keeps increasing, it  will take even longer for newer cases to be resolved.

I mean, how does MN approve less than 300 cases in 6 months when Detroit office is approving over 2000 cases in same period?

Nice post. Think they just are backlogged like you said and understafffed probably too. They really need a second office here probably or Atleast shift some other regions to another field office. 

 

Whats weird is that hat how are cases from October - December already at 200 approvals or so but yet there is still a lot  in the previous quarter that are pending or waiting for interviews probably. I thought it's done in order of application received

I think the approvals are those made in that 3 period not necessarily from cases received in the same period. But also think the pending cases figure is an updated # of all cases pending so far not just from cases filed that 3 month period.
