I'm getting a bit worried,

We had our successful interview last Wednesday, but the status didn't change at all and today I checked the mail and found a letter of approval for I-130, but still no status update... I-485 is on "interview scheduled", I-130 is on "case received".

Folks who have already received their greencard, could you tell me about your experience? Shouldn't the online status get updated right away?

AOS:

01-05-2017 - NOA1 received

05-03-2017 - Verbally approved in interview

05-26-2017 - Card was mailed

I'll schedule an infopass/speak with tier 2 officer if you dont get any update by end of the week. 

But don't stress, It's probably approved, if your i-130 is already

I don't even have "ready for scheduling" I-485 update yet and I hate to think it could be another 4 months before before interview letter is mailed

Just a short story about my interview...

 

Got there half an hour early, went through "customs", everyone was really friendly. Sat in the waiting room, and the officers I did see were all smiles. I got a really good feeling about them. We were called in maybe 20-25 min after our scheduled appointment time, and the guy seemed pretty laid back. He swore us in, and then started asking us general questions. Birth dates, where we were born, how did we meet (we met online, so he asked us which website, etc), what our address was, asked to see wedding pictures, had a laugh with my husband about "never wanting to move to Canada", asked me all those questions about being a communist, etc that are on the I-485 form.

 

Then, he asked to see my long form Canadian birth certificate. Eek, I didn't have it. In Canada there are two types of birth certificates, and I had the short form one only. He let me call my Mom to see if she had it (he would have accepted just a picture of it), but she didn't have it either. Then after a few other questions, he said he was going to approve the I-485 as soon as we mail in a copy of my birth certificate. I asked if this happens often, he said yeah it's no big deal. He said our I-130 is approved. Cool.

 

So, we went home and I ordered a copy of my birth certificate ASAP. Then I went to check myUSCIS, and it says the I-485 is approved? Weird. But as soon as I get that birth certificate copy I'm gonna mail it in anyway, we'll see what the letter in the mail says about the I-485.

 

So, a little mishap on my part, but all in all I am happy. I hope you all have good experiences too. Cheers!

Congrats @freshgreengrass ! 🎉✨Most importantly, you were approved on the spot and may rest until ROC. Happy for you. 

 

We have a similar timeline, but while our local office is just about 10 days behind yours on the website, we haven't heard anything since EAD...but we will get there! And the celebration will be for us too!

Mine is still "fingerprint received" since january. Got my EAD already though. Maybe field office is swamped or uscis website not updating right...

Probably. I've seen many people get the interview letter without the case status change online so I guess that's what's going on.

Neither as mine and I know people who submit two months after us has gotten ready for interview and they live in New York like me. I hope to get interview before Christmas cause that's when I wanna go home to jamaica

I hope you will too!! But sometimes USCIS forgets to update the online status and sends the interview notice in the mail. It happens to quite a few people. Check your mail everyday one it'll be be in there :) I hope I get my interview before the end of the summer I don't know why it's taking so long

No news here . Still at " evidence received " . In case you don't know, you can see your mail in advance on myusps.I just check it that way to make sure I haven't missed important mail.

Ill probably try re-checking when I'm off in a few weeks.
