Most folks get "card was mailed" update after the "ordered new card" update and received card soon after .

I would reach out to USCIS by Thursday if you have not receive your card, (granted every process is gettign slower with USCIS each day) as It would have been 2 weeks. Unless you see similar trend of folks waiting that long with no update or card delivery.

I will be following your progress as I'm also filing for a parent, granted You will be probably be done before me as my local office is sloooooow

Thank you, ClassyBee! Actually, right after I posted the question here, I got text message update on my phone saying that the EAD cards were mailed out to my parents. I think we should get it in mail hopefully this week. They should be able to go and apply for their SSNs once the EAD cards are here. My father needs it for renewing his driver's license, which is actually expiring after today. There's no updates for the AP card though. Would that come in together with the EAD card?

What's the normal timeline after the EADs is received till the next step? I see some folks receiving the GC without having to go for an interview.  What's the policy/guideline on that for USCIS? I wonder how long it will take for my dad to get the official GC - he needs to take a trip out of the country soon and I certainly wouldn't want him to travel without the GC.

There is no next step after EAD/AP is received. Your app is processed independently as EAD/AP is handled by NBC( and in your own case, ) your I-485 is Ready to be scheduled for interview so your I-485 & I-130 is at your local office.

Some AOS for parent app gets interview waived (not sure the basis for that) but I'm not sure that is a good thing these days as having interview could mean getting your GC faster.

Per travelling on AP, I agree, your dad certainly will have to go through secondary inspection @ POE using AP and given current administration rhetoric on immigration, I don't know if he would want to invite such scrutiny @ POE

Does that mean you don't have ITIN # yet. so did you file taxes yet?

If not filed yet, you can file for tax an extension today and just file your taxes when you have your SSN

I don't have an ITIN nope. I sent the return to the IRS but it might have been lost in the mail because when I called they have no records of my name. They told me to file again with my ssn.

@sndprmsh you two are not alone. Notice online on 4/8, hard copy received, but card hasn't been mailed.

According to my predictions (lol) my card should be mailed on Wednesday or Thursday. I'll keep you guys posted!

I read an article about how NBC  has been experiencing the worst backlog of all times.

All that is left for us to do = :pop:

It is now the waiting game I guess. I am in Orange County, California, so my local field office is Santa Ana. I just looked here :https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do for the processing dates, it shows that for I-485, this office is processing case as of 7/28/2016. The confusing thing is, there's two dates on that page, one is 2/28/2017, the other one is 4/18/2017. Which one is the page updated date? I wonder how recent they refresh this page.

My EAD was approved on 4/6, then I got text that my card has been mailed on 04/13. However, I just checked my USPS app that my card will arrive tomorrow which also shows the card was mailed on 04/17 actually.

The 04/18/2017 would be the page update actually. Based on my observation I would say that they have the "as of date" a few months back to accurately quote based on their logs from all the different local offices. It could also mean that each local offices does a report on a monthly basis or so.

When I had applied for mine, I asked the lady if it was possible to get the number now, and she said no I would have to wait until I get it by mail. I received my ssn by mail exactly 1week 1 day. I can't remember if it was priority or just regular.
