So we are at day 105 and still nothing. Generic answers to my SR's for my EAD and GC.

Β

Have GC interview next Thursday which will be day 112. However I have a job offer starting on 4/17 which I really need my EAD or SSN for.

Β

Has anyone successfully gotten a stamp or anything on the day of the interview allowing them to go to SSA?

This is what I found on the Uscis website for you . Best thing you can do is call and double check .

Β

At this point , an ead won't help your case since it takes about 1-2 weeks to receive it from production and then about 10 business days to get the actual Ssn.( though you can ask for the number itself when you go to the ssa office to apply).

Unbelievable, they closed my SR that I had opened yesterday to have my case expedited, it says it's completed but still no changes on my EAD/AP. Β

Well it depends most of the lenders look for a source of income such as job and may ask you to submit some proof of employment. When I was a student I got Discover who normally approve cards for the beginners.Β

Gotcha on that, if that would be the case I can certainly prove that. I know secure cards are easier, being that I would deposit a certain amount and that would be my credit line.

Congrats Johhny5 ! I'm so happy for you πŸ€—πŸ€—.Hello American resident !!

Β

@BrandjaΒ Bank of America is very easy to apply for . They won't verify your income ( but ask)Β just prove of ids/address. When banking in those situations, it's always best to go in person( not online/ over the phone). You most likely will start with a secured card and after a few months, you can ask to go unsecured( or wait until they offer).

Β

Anyway, after a few months of paying your balance in FULL, you should be able to go unsecured.

I was offered a Bank of America Travel Card, Amex, Capital One all without a Ssn number . I recommend Amex as an everyday credit card but they tend to be more strict so if you don't plan on paying your balance in full each month, stick to Boa and others.
