Trumpanzees could truly not care less what Don gets up to in the next 4 years. They are going to bask in the glory of the election for his whole term as to them it was a 2 finger gesture to the establishment who needed knocking down a peg or 2.

His constant lies and duplicitous nature matters not one iota. For him to meddle into one manufacturer's affairs is actually quite a dangerous precedent (apart from the details of what transpired is actually a bad deal for US tax payers with the 'incentives' / bribes). He only involved himself because it was dealings with Mexico and he bleated on about it in his ramblings to the masses.

The fact he's made it so personal could mean he interferes with free enterprise again when it suits him, the are hundreds of other companies who will have similar motives as Carrier, will he start negotiating on their behalf? That will take up his whole presidency. Is he planning to outsource the rest of his responsibilities defence, education, health etc.

Right now many are so pleased at his headline grabbing "rescue of American jobs". Everything with him will be in the detail as he is the expert at painting a picture that reflects his business acumen in the best light where all is not what it seems.

The more dangerous precedent is the fact he is willing to interfere, where will this stop? Once he starts taking decisions that don't quite fit the mould of what his supporters want... what then? Will they still have the beaming smiles on their faces... I think not... he does not want to represent the whole of the nation just his Trumpettes but that will wear thin even on him as this power hungry crazed individual will take decisions based solely on his know no bounds ego. Not for the betterment of the country.

Feel free to applaud his stance on Chynaaaah "he isn't even president yet and he has China in its knees already" believe that BS if you'd like but starting off trade wars isn't exactly the diplomacy the rest of the world will embrace and yes there is more than one country on the planet.

Business and economics isn't his full curriculum of activities and I hope he doesn't forget there is a lot more to holding this seat than championing the saving of a couple if thousand jobs here and there.

He takes advantage of capitalism when it suits him (his own foreign outsourcing), do not expect anything different that he won't also take advantage of the American people too.

The unskilled must be put to work if we hope to move ahead. The job creation will maximize the return to make America great again.

Exactly where are all these unfilled jobs for the unskilled? It's these jobs that overly spoiled the "right to entitlement" generation won't do that has led to millions of illegal (and legal immigrants I have to say) have filled these positions.

The very same has gone in in Europe too.

The words job creation is easy to say, however you only create jobs if you are competitive and that additional job will increase your bottom line. Companies generally don't employ people out of the goodness of their hearts, there has to be some return to make it viable.

Yes bring on the construction jobs, build roads bridges and airports too... many of which need skilled workers so firstly train and upskill the out of work and then entice them to work in this hard physical and demanding sector.

Who do you think will pay for all of these road buildings etc? Read the details before spouting back it will be private enterprises footing the bill or it will be made back on increasing tolls....

Somewhat reminds me of an episode of the Simpsons "Trash of the Titans" when Homer was elected the head of sanitation department. Promised the world to the electorate and went on to blow the annual budget in a month trying to make good on his "promises".

Now in no way am I saying the president elect should be compared to Honer Simpson as quite clearly Mr Simpson is a far smarter individual but you get what I mean...

Takes advantage, yes that he does, instead of employing the very people he says he represents, good honest hard working Americans, he takes his business overseas and pays (when he feels like it) foreign firms.

Can you not see he is a walking contradiction?

Not sure how you expect him to do that and also I'm sure nobody will even ask him to provide details. You don't need anymore politicians saying they will do things, you need to see action. He's not a politician as such but he is a master manipulator I will give him that and that us the very definition of a politician these days!

So if his job creation favours one manufacturer over another and you happen to work for the one that might potentially go out of business you would be ok with that? After all he's making the country great again so if there is some "collateral damage" you don't mind that as it's for the greater good of the nation right?

Yes, to make an omelette great again, eggs will be broken. There are winners and losers.

Boeing, is now finding out, that they have backed a loser.

Trump: Cancel Boeing’s Air Force One contract

'I think Boeing is doing a little bit of a number,' he says.

By LOUIS NELSON

12/06/16 12:34 PM EST

President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday called for the cancellation of a Defense Department contract with Boeing to build the next generation of presidential aircraft, decrying the deal as too expensive.

“Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!” the president-elect wrote on Twitter.

Later Tuesday morning, Trump spoke briefly with the assembled media in the lobby of Trump Tower, where he elaborated on his Twitter post decrying Boeing's Air Force One project.

“The plane is totally out of control. It’s going to be over $4 billion for Air Force One program and I think it’s ridiculous," he said. "I think Boeing is doing a little bit of a number. We want Boeing to make a lot of money, but not that much money.”

The president-elect's most recent financial disclosure form, filed in May and detailing his 2015 holdings, showed that the Manhattan billionaire owned between $50,001 and $100,000 worth of stock in Boeing, a purchase he announced on Twitter in 2013. Jason Miller, a spokesman for Trump, said Tuesday morning that Trump sold all of his stocks last June.

Miller added that the exact details of Trump's desire to cancel the Boeing order would be dealt with after he is inaugurated next month. The post to Twitter and subsequent remark to reporters inside Trump Tower "really speaks to the president-elect’s focus on keeping costs down across the board," Miller said.

Boeing has made the planes for Airforce 1 for the last 5 decades or more. So are you saying that every single President they "backed" is a loser?

It isn't Boeing who made the order for the new planes. I don't see how you can pin it on them. You can blame it on Obama maybe if the order was placed under his administration, but Boeing is just doing as they are told. They aren't cheap planes to make.
