MrHanky I filed Direct Consulate Filing (DCF) of our I-130 petition in that I am a USC that has permanent resident status in Mexico.  I completely eliminates and by-passes the slow NVC process when one is required to file through the regular process in the USA.  Had we filed earlier in November, perhaps it would have been a three week approval-case complete process due to the year end holidays.  After extensive research and invaluable input from good friends, two who are retired US Federal Immigration Judge's, and a practicing Immigration attorney, the decision was to file and process DCF here in Mexico.  All the best on your Immigration Visa journey!

Wish I knew that, although I probably would've had to wait to do the residency thing in Mexico too before I could have done this anyway.

Best of luck and thanks for your story.

This is such a miracle. Woke up to see my case has been approved by Nebraska. They received my case on Dec 28 and I was hoping to wait till June or July since Nebraska was like middle of nowhere. I still can't believe my eyes. It was approved on Feb 15, but still what a perfect gift from god for valentine! Truly blessed!!

Yes, you are absolutely correct.  It would take you 5 years to to establish Permanent Resident status with/through IMN in Mexico.  I'm certain you would not have wanted to wait that long in order to file your I-130 petition.  I know that the process never seems to move along as fast as one/we would like!  Success on your IR-1/CR-1 Immigration Visa journey.

Hoping it goes quick since the wife is wife is pregnant in US. I've already made a trip down and had no issues crossing over. Thinking about doing it next month again by bus for her next ultrasound appointment.

Has anyones time line line changed recently? Mine says March 13-29
