Hi misshepburn, and thanks for the welcome!

Wow, 20 days!! That's super fast! Yes, Texas has received a lot of transfers, so may have slowed down, but I will try and stay hopeful.

I have already received my police certificate, I ordered it earlier this month cause I just couldn't wait, lol.  I will have to read up more on the NVC stage to keep busy and be prepared.

Looking at your timeline, you are really close to the end! Wishing you the best of luck, you're nearly there!

Of course! thanks to you too -- :)

Yes, we got lucky with a fast USCIS approval, but if anything the NVC has been significantly slower/backlogged, I'm sorry to report. We did slow ourselves down by about 6 weeks because we got busy around the holidays and delayed filling out the DS-260 and i-864's.

Definitely read up on the NVC process - the guides here are great. I'd also check to see when your police certificate expires (most countries its 6 months -1year). That's the only danger in ordering them very early - is if you have to wait a ridiculously long time for the NOA2. It seems like the general rule of thumb on here is to order once you have the NOA2, but not to worry.

Also, folks should know that you can technically write to your congressman after 6 months wait -- that is considered by USCIS to be a "normal" amount of time for processing. Up until that point you have to tough it out, but if you cross that threshold I'd consider getting your representative involved.

Apparently London accepts police certificates up to a year old, so hopefully I'll have my interview by then. If not, I guess I will have to get another one.

This forum has been so informative, I will definitely read the guides, so we know what to expect and what I need to send my husband, etc.

Even though you slowed yourselves down, it's still an impressive timeline. I hope the NVC manages to sort out the backlog and starts moving along.

We received the e-mail, we got sent to Nebraska. Do they expedite petitions from abroad there?

From what I've heard, Nebraska processes them the same as all domestic applications, so no jumping the line.  I also filed from abroad and went to Nebraska, so we'll see...

Hi everyone, crazy time to be in this I130 process with so much going on at DHS!! Anyway just wanted to post that on Jan 26th, my NOA1 arrived to our apartment here in Quito, exactly one month after my packet was received in the Chicago Lockbox (Priority Date: Dec 27th)... So now I guess we will just wait the six months, because I don't believe we have been expedited at all...Ok so patience is needed lol

I hope so too, but Akphils' beneficiary is from the Philippines. Applications from the Philippines are largely (not always) auto-expedited. For example, from my September I-130 fliers thread, the only people from Nebraska who have been approved are from the Philippines.
