What do we do after DS-160 filed?

The embassy in Mumbai, India received my fiance's petition last Friday 12/1 (according to the NVC). He went head and filled out the DS-160 over the weekend and submitted it, but did not file the payment for the K-1 Visa yet.

Should he be expecting some directions from the embassy next? He already went ahead and got his criminal background clearance from the Passport office as well.

Any information of what we should do next is helpful if he should wait for directions or just go ahead and pay the via fee.

Thank You!
