Venezuela is going through all this due to the illegall immigrants that came here and dried the country. We have all kinds of immigrants from Colombian paramilitars to narcos and robbers.

A sentiment echoed right here about immigrants as well. Somewhat ironic you'd say this.

There are literally hundreds of millions like you trying to immigrate here. You have money so you have options. A lot of good advice you got here and you seem to have a good head on your shoulders.

Good luck.

It's not the same having immigrants that try to boost the economy than having immigrants that first came illegally and second are harming the country. I don't see any problem if any immigrant pays his taxes, opens businesses and hire people. With Cadivi here in Venezuela immigrants from all over the World including Lebanon stole billions of dollars, Lebanon was sand and now it's full of mansions and villas meanwhile Venezuelan people are eating from the trash! The only thing I want is to make it, to be successful whatever the country I'm in. It would do anything for Venezuela, I love this land with all my heart but sometimes what you love might end up killing you and right now it's not wise to try and survive here.

I've been actually threatened before (they say all arabs and portuguese have money so they love kidnapping them) the reason as to why I dont want to ask for assylum is because I still want to come here wherever I can. Thanks to everyone who had read this and took the time to answer, really appreciated!

Hi, DV lottery seems your best option, I second what other members said about that. It might be helpful to look at this picture and understand your possibilities to move to the US.

Why can't his family's company open a restaurant and bring him in under an H1B?

Look up the requirements for an H1B. He would not qualify. Even if he did qualify, an H1B would not be for running a restaurant.

If opening a US business was all it took to get a US visa, then lots of people would be doing it.

So it is kind of impossible? what about that company transfer visa or something like that? Unfortunately I can't risk a full year to enter the DV program. I have to act soon :/

I could immigrate to Europe but i'd rather stay in América.

I think you should study the option of the EB-5 maybe your parents can help you with that.

wish you luck

Canada is just like the US and also many Canadians by birth;

are a bit more nicer & kinder, they have working visa, its like the US &

Manitoba is looking for young ppl to work & populate that area

Right on! And we won't have Trump as president. Our prime minister is smart, liberal and damn good looking.

Come to the True North, eh?

Who knows if I end up in Canada. Sounds good!

Well I don't see any probem in trying to do that. How are the immigration laws in Canada?

The thing is what if the investment doesn't make any profit? I would be wasting $500k for nothing but a permission to live in the US? It's not an easy decision, we're not talking about $100k :/

I really liked the US while I was there and kind of got familiar with Manhattan.

That acually sounds like a good idea. And even if I don't get married or anything like that atleast I would have studied a career and got an experience in life!

Btw if I ask for an F1 visa will my b1/b2 visa get cancelled?

No, your B1/2 visa stamp remains valid even if F1 is granted but you cannot use it if you intend to study. If your F1 is denied for some reason it may become a red flag when you attempt to use the B1/2 to enter.

You do need to show that you intend to return to Venezuela upon completion of your studies, as the F1 is a single-intent non-immigrant visa. It is not legal to apply for F1 while intending to immigrate.
