I just called USCIS and the nice lady told me CSC is processing cases from August 2016 :( I need to make an appointment, and bring three passpot style photos (my passport expired since I thought i751 will be over and I dont plan to travel and I applied for citizenship).

So you guys think early morning is the best time to find an appointment?

Also, I will be stuck with my n400 - right now it says 16 months wait time.. :(  Cant wait for all this to be over..

Hi all! I may have missed this or not looked long enough, but should we get an InfoPass regardless of traveling if Greencard and Extension letter are expired? Hubby and I are trying to buy a house soon and they normally ask for residency/citizenship, right? I guess any information at all would be a great help since CSC is only in august <_< thanks!!!

Oh, how did you come up with this? I have been wondering what alternative i have with an expired passport. It would cost a whole lot to have to travel all the way to the east coast where my embassy is. Application fees for passport renewal/hotel/flight etc etc. Going to cost me too much mostly when i don't intend to leave the country in the next few years, hence not actually needing a pasport.

Depending on your state IDs, some residents/citizens will need passports to fly domestically as well.  Just an FYI.  As to the OP, what are the photos for?

Photos are needed because Serpentine87's passport has expired, and therefore, an EDIT stamp cannot be put on the passport itself. From what I understand, these applicants are issued some sort of physical green card extension, and that's why the photos are needed.

F-1 Visa: Academic years 2007/2010.

K-1 Visa: I-129F sent Aug 2013; Approved Jan 2014.

Green Card: AOS sent Feb 2014; Approved Jan 2015.

Removal of Conditions: I-751 sent Nov 2016; Approved Apr 2018.

US Citizenship: Application sent Nov 2017; Fingerprints Nov 2017; Civics/English exam March 2018; Oath May 2018.

Hmmm, Interesting. I am assuming that you told her that you had an expired passport already?. Please has anyone had any experience with this? I really wonder what the end result would be.

Nah, with my California ID, I can fly anywhere within the country.

Same with Florida DL, but only if the DL/ID is new enough to have the features to comply with the following:

It's a real thing. They've been broadcasting ads here in Florida for the longest time...!

Get infopass around 12midnight. You can get a lot of slot. Good luck!

I told her that my passport was expired and she told me expired passport is not a problem and to bring 3 photos instead of 2.

Is this the New ID policy from DMV? Is it mandatory? Thanks!

It is a DHS requirement, law was passed in 2005, enforcement started in 2013, but states had extensions until October 2017 (extended to January 22, 2018) and yes it is mandatory.  More than half of the states are working with extensions (California is extended to October 2018, so it is a future issue there too), but at some point that will end.  The problem is not federal, it is the states choosing not to update their ID processes.

Here is link with the map of the states (click on your state to see when the extension ends) https://www.dhs.gov/real-id

Hey guys, I'll make this to the point - sorry in advance if I am asking a question that has already been asked.

I made an infopass to get the stamp as my extension letter is close to expiring and still haven't heard back yet anything.

The documents I am going to bring to the Infopass appointment for the stamp are;

1) Passport

2) The 1 Year extension letter

3) SS Card / Number

4) Drivers License

5) The Biometrics appointment letter (Form I-797C?)

Is this enough documentation for them to give me the stamp?

I managed to get an appointment on the InfoPass website (nightmare)... 2 weeks before my extension  letter is due to expire! I'd hate to get there and them turn me away.

Thanks guys!
