hello,

I am also a december filer, and my extension letter was expired last month. I want to travel international to visit family. What is the way to do so?

Get an infopass appointment and go in to get a stamp in your passport. That stamp will be temporary (1 year) evidence that you are still a permanent resident and you can use that to travel internationally and re-enter the US on your return.

https://my.uscis.gov/appointment

The best way to find an available appointment is by checking the website very early in the morning - I've been the most successful when checking around 5-7am.

Good luck!

will i face any issue since my extension letter is already expired?

Nop, if your case is still pending, then your extension letter expired but your residency didn't. You are still a legal permanent resident. You just need a new document that acts as evidence of your residency. That's why you have to go to USCIS which has all the informaton regarding your case. They will check to verify that your case is still pending on their system and then they will simply put a stamp in your passport good for a year.

Most i751 applicants get that because the i751 usually takes longer than a year to process so most of us have been left with expired letters :)

Im already scheduled to get a Passport Stamp on the 23rd of January. Thank you so much for the help! I hope they won’t get my expired greencard and expired extension letter when I get that stamp. It would serve a lot more evidence as I go back here in United States.

Some other VJ member they took their expired documents. Some others dont. Based on what I read, its more convenient to show your expired GC and Extension letter along with your Passport Stamp upon arriving back here in United States.

Hello everyone! My case was approved on the 12/12/2017. Card was ordered on 12/15/2017 and for almost a month now the status is still card was ordered on 12/15/2017. I haven't received the card yet and the status is still the same. I think it is taking too long. Does anyone has this experience? What should I do? I think there is a mistake somewhere. VJ members I need some advice

It's almost a month since you got approved. Most of the approved applicants get their GC in 2 to 3 weeks. I would suggest calling the helpline or schedule an infopass appointment.

This is crazy, the 'fees were waived status' for over a year, I applied n-400 in december 2017 and that one is stuck on 'actively reviewing my application'after biometrics and my extension letter expires on February this year and I can't find an appointment for Infopass. The only thing that is on time is cashing the check. SMH!!!!

I got my passport stamped. I've found a info pass appointment in less than 24h. I've used google chrome, downloaded super auto refresh extension and set it to 30 seconds, also downloaded visual ping extensions. In a couple of hours a window popped up with the open slots

Do you have plans traveling out of US? Did they get your passport and expired extension? Tell me more about it. Thanks!

I don't have any plan in place yet. But who knows. The officer put a stamp on my passport which allows me to stay one more year. I got to keep the expired GC and extension letter
