So after returning to lurk on this forum for a few weeks... and anxiously awaiting news as others' approvals started trickling in.... we received our approval notice yesterday!! :dance: Date of approval 12/11... I've updated my timeline :D Now to work on the N400!

Not sure how true this is, but someone in a Facebook group I'm in reckons it's been leaked from a Midwest Field Office that all I-751s are going to be going through interviews from now on... probably hearsay but thought it was worth mentioning

I wonder how they're going to manage that, considering they can't even keep up with it as it is lol

This person in the group is apparently an Immigration Lawyer, I honestly can't understand why they'd do something like that, making an already painful process 10x more painful...

That person is just trying to scare some of the member on that group so that people on that group can seek immigration lawyer. Business is business apparently that's how some immigration lawyer do, so people will get their services.

I don't think an interview is required if there are no loopholes on someone's I-751 application, USCIS will not gonna waste their time to conduct interview on each i-751 given there are a lot of applications aside from I-751. 

USCIS application is very straight forward and you can just research if you dont understand things on the application. My spouse and I filed my AOS and ROC without the help of immigration lawyer and by doing that we save hundreds or even thousands of dollars. We just did a research and make sure we understand the instructions on the application form. Immigration lawyer is good if someone's situation is complicated but if not then no need for immigration lawyer. Besides, I saw January 2017 approvals already without the interview or even RFE.

06/22/17: Biometrics Appointment at ASC Manhattan

04/09/18: Online changed to case transferred to local office but no actual letter

06/13/18: Card Being Produced - NO RFE/NO INTERVIEW

06/16/18: Approval Letter arrived in the mail with 06/13/18 approval date

06/18/18: Card was picked up by USPS

06/20/18: Received 10 years Green Card from the mail - END OF I-751 JOURNEY!

05/06/19: Received email, passport application is now traceable online thru Travel.State.gov website (https://passportstatus.state.gov/Search)

05/08/19: Received email, passport has been printed and it's on final processing
05/09/19: Received email, passport application has been finished processing with USPS tracking number and expected delivery is on 05/14/2019

05/10/19: Receive email from USPS informed Delivery - Expected Passport delivery is on 05/11/2019

05/11/19: Passport book received thru USPS Priority Mail

05/13/19: Passport card received

05/14/19: Naturalization Certificate back - END OF PASSPORT APPLICATION!

This is just to cause fear and panic among i751 filers. Interview as I know usually is random or if they are not convinced on the evidence provided. But to conduct interviews for all i751 filers is practically unwise

Interview for employment-based AOS is essential and required under the new USCIS policy. That's one of the major change in USCIS policy this year. I-751 still remain the same and I agree with you guys that the attorneys scare people to get some money out of them. Below is the new policy effective from October-2017.
