17 days since  uscis recieved my RFE and no updates yet.

Val - Keep patience. I sent my RFE reply in Feb-2018 and till date no update is received by me. All I received was transfered my case to another office 4 times and no update since last 4 months. I asked several lawyers and they all mentioned 1 thing. Keep patience and be ready for long wait (Maybe 3-5 years from Application date). I filed 580 days ago my petition and days are still counting.

Oh my gosh. That is so frightening to hear. I am so sorry that is happening to you. That is so harsh, to just have your status pending for so long. I have no words, this process can be so stressful. Thank you for the words of encouragement. You are right of patience is very important in this process.

Goodluck & please keep us posted on your progress. I will be praying for you as I pray for myself.

Hi Val,

I just want to see if you have any updates after you sent in RFE, then I saw these posts. I'm shocked to see the process could be over 3 years or more without any reasonable explanations.

I'm wondering if there's any unusual factors on that particular case, but anyway I lost my patience many times till now I didn't hear anything back after May 3 transfer. It's hardest waiting ever, no time frame.

Hey @frigatebird yea it is so crazy to hear these kind of stories. I wonder if there is something unusual.

My nervous are so fried to from this endless waiting. It's now 17 days since usvis  has received my rfe and still waiting. Some have reported they waited a month then recieved notice of interview. Others have waited only one week then got approval. Then I read this message saying 3 years. I dont know what to expect. It's really never wracking.

Hi All,

I go a REF, please see below. What will happen if i can not provide one or more that one document they ask. The phrase "If you do not submit the requested information, we may deny your case"  freaks me out. I know i do not have to freak out since my marriage is legit. If someone faced this situation already, please let me know what happened to you.

I wish you all the best.

@Nissart my first set of advice is Stay calm. (Easier said than done. I know). I panicked when I got an RFE. But turns out all they wanted in addition was one extra document.

However if they do ask you for information you cannot provide, then you cannot provide it. You cant manufacture evidence. So write your adjudicator a very detailed explanation as to why you do not have what they are asking and send in evidence to support why you do not have what they want.

For example if they ask you for a lease and you don't have one because your spouse bought the property prior to your marriage. Explain that in your letter and then submit loan documents showing when the purchase was made and highlight the address so they can see it is the same address you currently live at togeather .

Like wise if they are asking for joint tax returns and you do not have those because you did not file togeather. Write a letter explaining why you did not file togeather and then support the letter with evidence of why you did not file joint.

You can apply that logic to any document's. However if you really don't have any reasons why you dont have what they are asking for then it might be a good idea to speak to a lawyer. But main think is not to freckle out. Lots of ppl are getting approved after submitting rfe

Goodluck my friend! Its gonna work out!

Hello everybody,

finally I saw some update on my case, as may some know I received RFE on June 23, and I sent all documents and received on July 17. Today I checked the status it says "We are producing your card and will mail it to you".

Hopefully it won't take long to receive it.

Anyone who received RFE, have faith hopefully it doesn't take long.
