I applied for i751 in December 2016 but I don’t think it would have been processed if it wasn’t for my N400 interview coming up now.

The officer initially told me I did good bringing my wife with me and he will call her in later to process the i751 but at the end of my interview he said I don’t need to bring her in I have faith in the marriage because you have a baby born in the marriage and he also saw the other documents I had with me like lease contracts, insurance cards etc. He said he will see my wife on the way out so he came and told her hi and sorry for keeping me so long. I think he just had to see her for logistical reasons like so he could say “his wife and baby were here with him” ;)

Nice, your combined interview comes pretty soon. I'm also early Dec 2016 filer for ROC, but I filed my N 400 in January this year. I haven't heard anything after May 3rd transfer. Was your doc also transferred to NBC in May?

Hi,

Can I please know when would I file the N-400. I have already filed I-751 and done with my biometrics. Filled it in April 2018.

I received my EAD in Jan 2016 and donot know when I received my  green card. Is there a way where I can find when I received my green card. (may be on the green card?)

and when should I file N-400 while my I-751 is pending. Please help.

It looks like it took you 6 months to have the interview scheduled, I'm not sure if I will hear something by next week because it reaches 6 months calculate from N 400 NOA, finger crossed.

Does anyone know if a PO Box is sufficient for the USCIS correspondences?  Or do they need a physical address?

I am moving and I don’t really have a permanent address.

Any help would be appreciated.

Good morning guys so I just got back from my interview I 751 and N400 interview. It was scheduled for 7:15am at Jacksonville Florida.  We got there at 6:30 . We checked in at 7:05 the nice gentleman came in at exact 7:25 and I asked him if he want me to come in only or with my wife. He said just you sir . He placed me on a oath immediately we walked to his office and said we finna work through my I 751 before we proceed . I said ok he asked if anything change since I filed and jokingly asked are you still with your wife and I said yes he said to obvious cos she waiting at the waiting room. He asked for our recent lease . Any other documents and I gave him 6 more affidavit of support he said oh really all this for me . I said yes and I even got bank statements and other insurance we just got . He said all I need is the affidavit and the lease with 2016 Tax I have him 2017 Tax and he said we are good to go. Then to N400 we went through the questions together and he asked me to read when is Columbus Day and also write the answer down he ticked the Pass mark. After that we started the civic test.

1. What does the president’s Cabinets do?

2.we elect a U.S senator for how many years

3.Name one branch or part of the government

4.How many amendments does the constitution have

5. What did the Declaration of Independence do

6.How many justices are on the supreme court

i answered correctly and he said congratulations you have demonstrated knowledge of the civic test . And jokingly asked if I will have the chance to come in for oath ceremony next week Friday I said yes yes yes and he laughed. Got scheduled for oath ceremony on the 20th of July. Thanks y’all and I wish you all success in your journey. God bless the United States of America 🇺🇸 . Cheers 🥂

Happy to be almost done with this whole process!!

@imagineyouandme I'm sorry to hear that, what they told you is absolutely wrong. Was your officer a middle - aged hispanic man ? I've heard of others from Chicago who have faced the same issue.

I think he was Latino, but I thought he was on the younger side (but maybe I am misremembering). I also thought it was odd as I had heard of other locations conducting combo interviews. Frustrating, but what can you do!

That's just plain awful, a couple of folks in Chicago are in the same predicament as you which results in their overall timelines being lengthened. Did you try reasoning with him ? In some cases, that seems to work. I am on the fence on whether or not I should apply for my N-400 in November 2018. So basically he didn't even conduct your N-400 interview ? Were you just sent home ?

I did try asking if a combo interview was possible, but he said that it wasn’t. Didn’t want to argue with him too much because I was worried it would affect my case longer! Correct, no interview at all and was sent home. He said that at least my file was now in Chicago so they hoped to schedule the ROC interview quicker (still took a year and 7 months, but I’m sure there are people who had to wait longer).

That's a long wait and it was totally unecessary. I'm not sure why the Chicago field office doesn't have their act together. @Rmsh and @AK_2014 had a very similar experience.

This is a good example of officers being stubborn over little things. I am a November filer and I know that in my case and others combined interviews were done and approved on the spot.
