I am not sure if the packages being sent to NBC are being skipped completely.  Our’s Was approved a few weeks ago.

Yes I read your posts, I still feel yours is different because you had an interview.

Interviews especially with a spouse hold a huge weight for quick approval.

I have this feeling that USCIS is having a hard time approving cases after they sat for so long and not knowing if there were any changes in the relationship or background etc, thats why they seem to be sending so many RFE than usual.

In this type of work environment, backlogs can be considered a national security threat and they cant just get down to business approving all the apps that sat around. There are measures they need to take now that the apps sat for so long, I wont be suprised if they are rerunning background checks after 12 month wait, and an interview is the fastest way to smooth ride, even though its considered the hardest option.

I hear you, It is such a paralyzing feeling. People tell me to forget it all and go on with my life andwhen it happens it will happen and such. Easier said than done. I think people mean good but forget how much this means to us and what toll it takes on us.

To be honest any immigration process in the U.S is exhausting due to the large pool of applicants. Retrospectively it is taking more time than ever. I wonder if this is going to be the trend in future.

I am guessing we were unfortunately caught in the crux of a transitionary phase of changing rule, changing process of mail vs online &  changing political atmosphere. I guess once this batch is sorted out, the henceforth batches may be sytematically processed. Again I am just speculating, thats all I can make of this bizzare trend which seem to follow no rhyme or rhythm.

Id say your guess is right.

However the only way this mess can be fixed is by hiring new USCIS employees, and clearly the new admin has no interest such thing. If the NYT writes an article about immigration hiring new employees to help ease the backlog, there will be pitchforks raised from right wing.

While the political shift has been huge this time around, immigration has always been a hot topic in political debates and actions are always taken against those vulnerable that don’t really have a voice since they cant vote.

I do hope this is the case (things will get better) but I don't think so. The US is more and more focused on its own citizens than it used to, which makes sense considering the fact that the country is almost 250 years old. Long gone are the days when this is the "land of the free" and everyone is welcome.

It makes sense though for them to prioritize the welfare of the US citizens over immigrants, this is why people want to immigrate in the first place. Also, given the political atmosphere, further scrutiny of immigrants are expected. You do not want people to cheat their way through the system (there are so many fake marriages, too many) and just get in. That's even more unfair.  Also, for those who felt that US is all that bad, there are other countries to immigrate to, such as Canada, Australia, etc. Their arms are wide open. Or just stay put and don't immigrate. Fewer immigrants means faster processing for everyone else.

Right but looking at US history, you clearly see that the US got lucky with huge natural resources and was able to “steal” most of the world’s talent by paying them handsomely. How do you steal the worlds talent? through immigration.

Most American kids are struggling with school debt, cant find jobs and are just not down with marriage and kids due to cost and expectations.

If immigration is not helping the US right now, its the least of its problems, most immigrants get down to work and business when they get a chance, I mean just look at us going through this nightmare, we are ready to take on life and improve our lives and in turn the US as well.

The major issue now is inequality, the rich are hording all the resources and they just dont know how to stop and wont stop.

Yeah, it makes a lot of sense to me. This year alone USCIS made so many system updates and last year I-485 employer application got the mandatory interview. So many things have been happening around.

I am the first here on this group...I guess I should say the first one that placed the petition and still I am in limbo. I cant express my frustration about all the process...not about the lenght but about the not knowing when. Difficult to explain that I am happy just when I see a post here...make me think something is  moving ...and give me hope.

Hi everyone. Just received a text message alert that case was updated. I went to my uscis account and it says that "New Card is being produced". I didn't get any messages like my case was approved. Just new card is being produced. I double checked my account on DHS and it shows no changes. My WAC1707500xxx. I didnt apply for N400 yet. My case was not transferred to NBC or anywhere. Hope its not a false alarm. Excited. But holding my breath.

I filed on 13.12.2016

NOA is 14.12.2016

I had the regular glitch message in February 24 th and 26th 2018 "your case was transferred to your local office"

Congrats.

Im guessing you didnt apply for N400?

As I was saying, all direct approvals are of those that did not get transferred to NBC

NBC transfers are on their own timeline now

If your case is straightforward, no NBC transfer, no n400 filed you are def on track for approval in the next few days, weeks tops.

I called and spoke with a tier 2 officer and he told me that my case was touched last week and its presently on administrative hold. He further said that uscis needed something from me which I didn't respond to. I never received nothing in the mail. I check my mail twice a day and nothing came. I'm so confused and so freaking out. Does anyone know what this could be. The tier 2 officer adviced that I make an appointment and go into my local office. Stressing.
