Hi,

This is my first post and I have a hard time getting police certificate from Thailand.

I am Japanese and my husband is US citizen.

I lived in Thailand for a year so I need a police certificate from there,

I have a friend who lives in Bangkok and she went to submit the documents to police station,

but was told that they need copies of my passport showing the entry stamps to Thailand and also a copy of passport page that has Thai visa.

I do not have my old passport with me anymore,

and I did not keep any copies of my old passport, so it is impossible for me to submit those documents...

My ex-employer also does not have any documents that can prove how long and when I lived in Thailand.

Is there anything I could do to get the certificate without those documents?

Has anyone submitted letter to NVC explaining why they are unable to send police certificate??

I really do not know what to do...

there may be an on-line or mailing process for this. You will have to do more research.

Worst case you might have a trip to Thailand in the future but that might not be a bad thing. Incredible country to me anyway.

Otherwise you may want to search here:

Hopefully others will provide the exact answer for you.
