Chat Logs: Changing Names while Copy/Pasting

Hello,

Is it legal or fraudulent to replace your Skype/MSN username with your real first name while copying from chat logs to a new MS Word document?

I'm asking because in Skype and MSN I sometimes use a username, not my real first name.

So in order to make the task of Consular officers and my life easier by avoiding the addition of an attachment explaining that the username is mine, would it be acceptable to replace my username with my real name on the copy/pasted chat logs? No other information in the chat logs would be altered, only the username.

That would constitute document tampering, and technically jeopardize the integrity of the evidence. Just add a sticky on the first page explaining who's who. Not that difficult, in my opinion.

Yup. Just leave them as is and if the CO asks about it just explain.

They did that to my partner with our Imessage logs as we didn't save eachother by first names, CO just asked "So who is saying this" when he was reading the logs abit. He just explained and nothing major.
