Anyone who has gone through Ghana. My fiance wants to know, if he has to make an appointment to be seen at the Akai house or can he walk in?

Something I'm wondering, he says, he has to go to 3 different places to complete the medical. Is this so? I didn't hear of it before from anyone, but he says its on the papers from the embassy.

Hi,

Yes you can go to three different places for the medicals. You don't have to make appointments, but doing it all in one day will take the full day. I HIGHLY recommend going to Holy Trinity (Swanlake area) for the medical exam/x-ray in the morning first thing, then go to MedLab (you have to go to the one in Roman Ridge) for the HIV test, then go to Akai House in the afternoon for the vaccinations. (Akai House in the morning is stuffed with people.) Bring all the money, copies of the forms, and then be ready to have to go back to Akai House for follow up vaccinations. Make sure after the final vaccination that they give you the vaccination worksheet (or a copy) even though they will (wrongfully) insist that you don't need it.

Good luck!

Thanks so much a&o, all the information you gave was very helpful. My fiance told me to tell you thanks. He says everything you told, was on the papers from the embassy, although this morning he was insisting that the only place to go, to get the medical exam was Akai house. I said, no you go and read the info a&o gave me. Then I get an email from him later saying he's going to follow all your advice and lots of thanks. Hope all is going well for you and your husband.
