thank you in advance for reading my post and i hope you all doing great btw my questions are about my application on dual citizenship.

I was born in Philippines but i move here in the US (married my husband) and got my naturalization last year. I am planning to visit my family in the Philippines next year and I wonder if its better to do my dual citizenship here in US or its better to do it in Philippines to save more trouble since the Philippine embassy is far from where I live. and if so how was the process? does anyone here did their dual in Philippines? I still have my Philippine passport with me and I am also planning to renew it. if your advice is to do it here in US then how's the process? I saw the form in Philippine embassy website and fill it up but not sure whats the next step? what I plan to do are dual citizenship and passport renewal. I will appreciate any advice.. thanks!

It looked fairly straight forward when I looked into it. My partner is same, whenever he goes get naturalized several years down the road he would like to apply to regain his Philippines citizenship, so become dual citizen.

Seemed like a simple filling of the required form, plus providing I suppose copies of BC and Philippines passport.

Hopefully someone here has gone through this process and can better inform you, and myself honestly so I will know when the time comes several years from now.

Congratulations with your naturalization.

My wife was planning to complete dual citizenship while in the Philippines but the process will take 5-6 months so BI told us, if you have the time do it while in the Phils. If not. Watch for a consulate outreach event to come to your state, every consulate does them once a year. get signed up for the event near you.

You can not "renew" your Philippine passport until after you complete your dual citizenship. Some consulates will do both during the outreach event.

Do you have your U.S. passport now?

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!
