Good morning,

I'm from Rio de Janeiro and my fiancé is applying for the K1 visa for me in US. I have an issue that I can not find. I got syphilis 3 years ago. The VDRL (test for syphilis) resulted 1:128. I got all medication and 20 days after my result was 1:32 (means I was cured), but take a long time for be negative. Right now my result is 1:8.

Ok, for understand, the Syphilis result can be Negative, 1:1, 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16, 1:32, 1:64, 1:128, 1:256, 1:512 etc. For be cured, the result needs be 4 times less. If you got 1:128, you are cured 1:32.

My question: right now my result is 1:8 (but I am cured), and will take a long time for be negative. Some people will never have negative. How exactly does this work during the interview / doctor?

Hugs,

Raphael
