Hi all. Just got my DS-260 unlocked today. So by next week We will send all documents to NvC. :-)

Anyways, I noticed that after the scan date, it took about 6weeks or so for NVC to review the documents and case complete.

But when i login to the CEAC website, it says it will take them 2-4weeks to review and if everything good they will schedule interview.

Just curious because during USCiS stage the timelines is 5months so before the 5months up we cant really call for update.

NVC stated in their website that it is 2-4weeks review, but was it not the case?

I just called and they toljd me my case is being reviewed by the supervisor now.

Hope for good news.

Still no news. Every time I call the representative tells me something diffefent. Now they told me its on supervisor review and it could take upto 6 weeks. How can they take 6 weeks to complete a case they have supposedly started reviewing 3 days ago?

My case is really simple. No cosponsors, no assets...just my salary and my husband's documents. This is unbelievable. I'm tired of waiting.

Once again....this process is ridiculous. If this were to be free I would understand that I have to be patient. But everyone pays for this "service" and still need to wait whatever time they take. This people don't understand how this wait affects everyone involved in this process.

I am tired of NVC and their poor service. If they don't have enough employees to handle cases then they should hire some more people. It's common sense. Maybe I'm starting to loose mine. ?

What they told me is, "We currently have a high volume of cases, and they are taking at least 6 weeks to clear."

I don't know why the website says 2 to 4 weeks. 6 weeks is the number that matters. Basically, if it's been less than 6 weeks since your AOS documents were received, they aren't going to give you any information. They'll say "Your scan date is XX-XX-XX, call back when it's been 6 weeks."

Our case took 8 weeks. I suggest calling a week after you mail off the documents, to verify your scan date. Then wait until it's been 5 weeks, and call once a week after that. If it's been more than 6 weeks from the scan date, you can request a supervisor look at your case.

Good luck!

Unfortunately the website's timeline is not accurate. They are incredibly backlogged and it's taking 6+ weeks to get CC. When I asked someone from the NVC why they don't update the site to reflect the actual timeline, they said it's a government site and takes a lot to change it. So unless something changes, be prepared to wait a bit.

Ahhh ok.. we had glimpse of hope when we saw the 2-4weeks review timelines. Lol.

But yeah, our next waiting game will start soon.

Thank you for the replies. :-) Cant wait for this to be over!

Well, I have posted few posts this in another post as well

I submitted all required documents IV and AOS to NVC and the scan date was November 7th. I have reviewed a lot of posts about the foreigner income and issue with tax exempts not meeting with poverty minimum income in our tax return Form 1040 line 22. Indeed I don't meet the poverty minimum income. So I have got a family remember to Join Sponsor my wife for me.

Now here are the questions below:

1 - I have filed I864EZ, do I still need to file I-864 since I'm getting a Join Sponsor with me?

2 - Should I wait for NVC to send me a REF after the review my case? That will take another 3 weeks if I was lucky enough and not request a supervisor review.

3 - Which cover sheet should I submit the new package with the IVA Bar code sheet or the AOS Bar code sheet?

4 - If I submit the new documents right now to save me the time of getting REF, would it be an issue? I know the new scan date will have another 6 weeks on top of it

5 - Is there anything below missing to be submitted with the new package along with the Join Sponsor I-864?

Required List

1 - AOS or IV Bar-coded cover sheet

2 - Petitioner's Completed and signed form I-864

3 - Petitioner's Country of Domicile Letter

Voter registration card showing permanent US address

State Drivers license showing permanent US address

4 - Petitioner's Tax Return for the last three years & Pay-stubs

5 - Join Sponsor's Completed and signed form I-864

6 - Join Sponsor's Tax return for the last three years

7 - Join Sponsor's Evidence of income

Employment Letter

Pay-stubs

Thank you all for your help and hopefully I'd be able to finish with this nightmare within three months as a max with approved visa.

M&Ms

1. You will need to file form I-864. The EZ form cannot be used with a joint sponsor.

2. I do not know if you should wait for an RFE. IMO if you send in documents with the barcoded cover sheet, it shouldn't be a problem. But I don't actually have any experience with that.

3. AOS barcode

You also need to include the W-2s or equivalent with the tax returns for you and the sponsor (unless you're using IRS Tax Transcripts).

I am thinking maybe I might have made a mistake.... or maybe its me being paranoid and over thinking.

I only included one of the bar coded cover sheets. I'm not even sure which one. I just assumed that the bar code is the case bar code, but now I am reading that they're is a different bar code for IV and AOS.

So my packet goes like this:

  • bar coded cover sheet
  • packet content list that I created
  • AOS documents
  • IV documents

And everything is in the order listed on the packet content list, which follows the bar coded cover sheet. I was soooo obsessively careful when compiling my packet. I will be heartbroken if I run into problems due to one stupid bar code!

Don't panic! I only included one bar code cover sheet for both packets. I printed one sheet and then made two separate piles of documents - one for the financials and one for the IV docs - and put each pile into a plastic L wallet and then laid the cover sheet on top of both packets and put that into a UPS envelope. No check list. Case was complete in 7 weeks 1 day. This was in September/October this year.

This is most definitely the hardest thing of ever had to do. My has been is in Ghana and I get to see him every three months. I fly and make the long trip. If I didn't do that I would go crazy. My scan date was November 4 so I'm only on week number four. And it's driving me crazy. I really hope we get A interview date in January. I really pray for January early. I know how you ladies feel it's hard when your head is not around.

That's what I wonder at times as well. What will our relationships actually be like when this process is over. There's no way you can come out of this the same person as when it started. It's scary and it steals so much from us. I just want it over already.

This process steals so much away from us. I agree - there has to be a better way. Not sure how we would survive without things like skype and facetime.

So do I. The time being away cause so much unnecessary stress and arguments plus the paperwork create so much confusion as well. Praying for strength, endurance and understanding for all of us. Surely I need one.

Hey everyone! We mailed our package in October. Never heard a word about it, so I had my husband call about two weeks ago and they acknowledge receipt as of October 31st. I was starting to get worried because they never emailed or mailed any kind of confirmation of receipt.

Anyway, this week is 5 weeks so hopefully next week we'll hear something. I wish I had realized ahead of time that it would take 6 weeks, since it's getting dangerously close to Christmas.

Met: December 2009

Married: April 2015
