I'm getting the nusy signal too. I prefer calling close to midnight. That way I wait less and get a friendly representative. The ones during the day are rude and don't like to answer questions.

Good luck!

Every time I call they tell me something different. First that the supervisor has my case. Then that someone is looking at my case while we spoke. Then that my case was still with the supervisor nut had not been reviewed yet. Then that the supervisor has forwarded my case to the review department. And now that my case has not been reviewed....again. I will be 2 weeks on supervisor review next Tuesday. If I don't have a response by hten I will try to talk to a supervisor or get my congressman involved. This is too much waiting for a service we see paying for.

I just called NVC and they told me my case was in the review department...again. This is ridiculous. I think that at the end of the day nobody knows exactly what is going on with our cases. Hoping for some foid news soon so was cam have an appointment early next year. This waiting game is killing me.

I have a question regarding the CEAC visa status check site... so far my status has been "at NVC". I am assuming it should it change at some point? I have been trying to contact the NVC to get a scan date, and I am curious if "scan date" affects the status on the CEAC website. What else can change the status and what do the statuses mean?

No It wont change it would remain at NVC until they have it IN TRANSIT to US Embassy this is after Case Complete and a couple of days receiving your Interview Letter. Status will change again to Ready once the Embassy received it. After that only the updated date changes once they have your medical or at least an indication they have look into your case in preparation of the upcoming Interview.

This is based on my case not sure with others though. I believe its pretty much the same. Hope that helps

So where are people getting these updated dates and the idea that their case has been "touched" or looked at? I feel like maybe I am looking at the wrong website or something :huh2:

Theu call at NVC to check if their file as been received or reviewed.CEAC site is goodto check when your caae is completed at NVC then and only then you see changes from it. Until you are at NVC calling or email is the way to go to check some updates.

You can only see 'touches' when it leaves the NVC.

People get their scan dates by calling and asking - some (like me) are lucky that they get an email from NVC telling them their scan date. It seems that's very much arbitrary whether you get an email or not.

One tip I can give about dealing with the NVC is - expect nothing to happen unless you keep on the case. It does require quite a lot of input from the applicant, unlike USCIS where you can do absolutely nothing but sit and wait for NOA2. Don't expect NVC to tell you anything unless you call and specifically ask them - and that may even take several attempts until you get an agent who is willing to tell you. I really don't know why the huge secrecy there but that's how it felt to me.

I called NVC last night as it was 5 weeks for us. The lady I spoke with told me there should "definitely" be an update by the 6 week mark. We

shall see I guess. I'm going to call every other day.
