They are listed here. Police Certificates are most properly the most important new documents.

Also you can prepare Affidavit of Support with all attachments in advance and sign once you are

at NVC. It takes some time to prepare all documents and you better start now, don´t wait

for the welcome letter. This way we sent our documents just days after we received welcome letter

from NVC as everything was prepared.

Hi, my PD is December 16 2016, what documents should my wife and I start to gather right now ?

I'm reading this: 

 IV Packet
    a. Bar-coded cover sheet 
    b. 2 US Passport-sized photographs of the beneficiary (name, dob, and case number on the back)
    c. Photocopy of the biographic data page of the beneficiary's passport
    d. Photocopy of birth certificate of the beneficiary 
    e. Photocopy of marriage certificate of the beneficiary and the petitioner
    f. Photocopy of police certificate(s) of the beneficiary, (in some countries this is not available)

You should send both AOS and IV packet in 1 envelope together. Do not sent in 2 or 3 parts.

Everything 100% in one envelope. So get all of the documents. For AOS you can get financial

documents for 2017 and have them ready.

In my country (Nigeria) PCC expires within 6months and my pd: dec.27, 2016, no noa2 yet. do you advise that I still go ahead to get the PCC?

You should start with gathering all the other documents, and Police Certificates from any stay ABROAD. Once you have everything else, you can think of obtaining the local ones depending on how Chart B moves. For now, try to gather all 2017 financial information, tax return, W2s, fill out affidavit of support etc. 

after that, at last, work on your local PCC.

Did you file at NBC for AOS? We all in F2A category filing for AOS in NBC are waiting for the EAD/AP since the 1st week of Oct, so all I can say is wait "PATIENTLY"

Based on your timeline you're already very close to an interview. I don't think it's going to make a difference unless the Visa Bulletin stops moving for the next 2 months.
