My PD is April 4, 2016 and I have got a WL, I completed Choice of agent form and paid AOS fee, what is the next?

My income is low and I have my friend as a co sponsor, my question is should I have to complete I-864 also? what about my friend ? should I have to show myself as a sponsor on I-864 even my friend is going to be a main sponsor?

Thank you in advance

Wow, we have the same PD!

  • If the petitioner signs the form I-864, but is unable to meet the financial requirements, another individual must also sign a separate form as a joint sponsor to meet the financial requirements.
  • Each sponsor needs to submit taxes and W2’s if he or she is not using an IRS printout, or provide a reason for not filing taxes.

With no joint sponsors:

-Bar-coded cover sheet from payment portal

-Cover letter (optional)

-Original completed, signed, and dated I-864 form by petitioner

-Tax information^^ of petitioner (either just the last year OR the last 3 years)

-Employment letter of petitioner (optional, but good proof of CURRENT income)

-Pay stub(s) of petitioner (optional, but good proof of CURRENT income)

With joint sponsors:

-All of the above of the petitioner

-Original completed, signed, and dated I-864 of joint sponsor

-Tax information^^ of joint sponsor (either just the last year OR the last 3 years)

-Proof of US citizenship/residency of joint sponsor (ex: copy of US passport, US birth certificate, US naturalization certificate, or front & back of green card)

-Employment letter of joint sponsor (optional, but good proof of CURRENT income)

-Pay stub(s) of joint sponsor (optional, but good proof of CURRENT income)

My wife's PD is December 1st 2016. We received the NOA1 but we're still waiting on anything further and we're starting to worry. Do we need to call and check? We can see it's backed up a little and the PDs on the visa bulletin are way behind, but I don't want to mess up or miss a step! We were really thorough in our application.

Thanks

You indicate that you are in Texas. Only California is much delayed, so a call can`t hurt in my opinion. If you are in CSC, you can save the time for the call as they are doing September 2016 PD currently.

I'm in NYC, we filed to the Chicago Lockbox, where would it be getting processed?

Thanks!

You must check your paperwork and case for that. No one can tell this only by this data.

Hello everybody, Is there somebody here who knows about somebody who have traveled to United States with B1/B2 Visa, after submitting the DS-260 form? I'm very worried because read in other topic about a person who was advised not to travel with his visitor visa after doing that step on NVC. I'm concern because my husband bought me a ticket to visit him and we're almost ready to submit DS-260. I really appreciate your help.

Hi. My husband visited me already 3 times on ESTA without any problems. I am to submit DS 260 next week and my husband is planning to come to see me around October. Now, I know you were asking about B1/B2, but I just thought I would share my experience. Make sure you have proof of ties to your home country and a return ticket home. Me and my husband always prepared for a case that they would stop him at the border: he would tell them that he has no intentions of overstaying his visa, as he is going through consular processing and he knows it would just undermine the whole process for him. There is always a little risk involved of course though. Good luck!

my wife has done it 3 times with success, last time she was here in August, her date was eligible for AOS and we just cancelled her return ticket and applied for AOS. her priority date to become current either August or September, but we're hoping not to get an interview until October due to a 2-year anniversary
